“well how else are we supposed to know if you’re actually getting any better at chess,” Varian said with a grin. “This way, we can see how long it takes for you to win, and then can chart your growth. It’s... scientific to keep score.” And it felt good to actually beat Flynn at something for once.

vanellope’s hands shake as she grips onto flynn. her breathing is labored and her hearts racing, she’s drenched in sweat. “ i... i.. ” she stutters quietly before a choked sob escapes her lips. vanellope can’t count how many times she has this same nightmare. she’s grown and seeing a child version of herself waiting for her parents on the side of the road. their car is coming when, BAM.. an 18 wheeler t-bones them and their car goes flying, landing in a burst of flames. she screams for help, for anyone but nothing comes out. she’s stuck. she’s voiceless. she’s helpless as she loses her parents all over again. each time she wakes up screaming for them. “ i couldn’t save them... ” ( @theflynnriders )
