send “auld lang syne” for my characters reaction to waking up from a happy dream about your muse —- only to remember that your muse is already dead.
"…Daddy?"The young girl calls out,meek and helplessly whilst clutching and hugging the pillow she carried with tightly.She was standing in the doorway,still in her pj’s with a mixture of a saddened and bothered look."What is it,sweetie?"He asks and cant’s his head in her direction.He just finished tucking Hakim into bed.Hence why they were whispering."I’m scared…I don’t want to sleep alone tonight."She admitted,hiding her face with the pillow."Can I sleep with you tonight?"Alibaba’s lips tug into a small and understanding smile before making his way towards her."Of course you can."
The young girl snuggled up to him while tucked in bed.She craved attention and some sort of comfort and warmth at the moment.Especially after her mother’s death.”Comfy?”She only responded with a nod.Faiza gripped her father’s shirt while the elder held her in his arms.After a brief pause,he was the first to break the silence.He knew.He could tell just from one glance at her she was holding back.”You miss her,don’t you?”And with that she let go and started crying.Tears spilling like a fountain while small sobs and hiccups would escape the back of her throat.Alibaba stroked her hair and held her close.”Oh,Faiza.Its ok.”He said before pecking her forehead.”I miss her too….but your mother wouldn’t want to see you—us like this.”She lifted her head only to catch glimpse of her father with his usual smile but teary eyes.Hakuryuu would of laughed and teased them for being such crybabies-but eventually break into tears herself later-“Daddy?”
"Hmm?"
"Promise me you won’t leave me like mommy did."
"I promise,Faiza.I would never leave you or Hakim.Ever."He said reassuringly before wiping her tears away then nuzzle her.Faiza smiled then hugged her father real tight as if afraid if she’d let go he’d disappear.

Well….he kept his promise to her…
but things turned out for the bitter end.
Even though its been years ever since those memories and dreams still haunt him…even in his sleep.He lost the woman he loved;Hakuryuu.Now he lost the daughter she gave him and left him with before dying.He promised to never leave.He promised to keep her safe.How foolish,thought the blond male as he even today mourns his loss each time he wakes up from such dreams.
