‘One Word: Plastics.’ (Or Space-Age.)
Plastic clothing has gotten a bad rap for far too long. I’ve long touted my Melissa shoes, then recently bought this jacket. But darn it, this cutie isn’t warm enough for the already freezing Berlin weather.❄☔ (What happened to fall?) Take a gander at these images that inspired my lifelong and infinite crush on plastic/space-age fashion.
Best of all, plastic, synthetic goods are cruelty-free.
About those Melissa shoes (again)––here’s a very small assortment, below. Incredible new styles just keep coming from this brand. In fact, I am so fixated on shiny, functional plastic these days, when I see actual leather shoes I’m somewhat repelled. But I’m drawn to plastic like a magnet!
Just goes to show how a focus on animal-friendly products and materials can actually alter one’s perception of beauty. I’d like to champion a plastic revolution. To me, cruelty-free is the most beautiful style.
And it certainly helps that I’ve always loved the Space Age look.
