The afternoon was the time of the day that Ness anticipates the most throughout the day. Four in the afternoon, to be exact. The moment the clock strikes four, it’s time for a snack run. The time of the day that Ness does his daily dash to the convenience store to pick out some goodies with the small amount of cash that he has. Because of very limited money, he’s not generous with his purchases, but he’s very meticulous about it. Was today a chocolate-flavored day? Or was it a cheese-flavored day? Puffy, or crisps? Ridged, or plain?
A different kind of hunger is satiated everyday, and as a man, the best way to a better heart is through the stomach (or something like that, he thought).
But today was different. A dilemma appears before our hero. Beads of sweat formed as Ness clutched two bags, a limited edition bacon mac and cheese flavored chips on one, and a small box of premium milk chocolates on sale on the other. Salty, or sweet? Crunchy, or creamy? The decision could be dangerous; a wrong choice could lead to a man’s upset stomach. Definitely a life or death situation.
Well damn, if he doesn’t choose one now, he’d miss the hour and not be able to eat any if he keeps messing around. But the thing is, he just really doesn’t know what he wants.
Ness turns to the guy next to him, almost conveniently placed. “Hey, do you think I should get the limited edition chips, or the premium chocolate that’s on sale?” He asks casually, not minding what the guy was doing at all.
