This book looks at deep, archetypal grief through the lens of American slavery and black women & mothers in particular. . Fanny Brewster is direct, clear, and unflinching in her willingness to pose the difficult questions for contemplating. . I have underlined nearly every word. I am learning. #thegreatunlearn . What I appreciate most so far is how Brewster points out differences between American slavery and other institutions of slavery around the globe.
