Obligatory welcome post!

Welcome followers!  I'm stunned by how much this has taken off!  (Shut up, my level of internet fame is such that I consider picking up 20 followers in a matter of hours to be a huge deal.)

As you've doubtless gathered, this account is for playing around with crossovers between two of the most fractally complex bodies of work our world has to offer: Les Misérables and Doctor Who.

I'm an old-school LJ kid, so hope this can be more of a contributor-generated community and less of a tumblr-style, top-down "blog."  Please submit whatever works or thoughts you have to offer, and drop a line if you'd like to talk about being added the account's list of official "members" or if you have any ideas about what we can do better!

As for me: I primarily go by thehighestpie in Hugo fan circles, though I also run the more academically-focused tumblr hernaniste.  Your other mod is currently amarguerite.  I credit tenlittlebullets for creating some of the first crossovers between Who and Hugo (and blame her for being a huge influence in sucking me into both fandoms).  And edwarddespard and midshipmankennedy have already contributed to the fun!

Quick fic

They never knew quite how the stranger found their meeting, but when he jumped through the window and cried, "Run!  Cops!" they did not question him.

Out the back door they fled, down an alleyway with the sound of shouts hot on their tail.

They rounded a corner to find their way blocked by a tall gate.  The windows to either side were barred.

"Step back!" the strange man cried as he pushed through Bahorel's attempts to muscle through the hinges.  He waved a strange device which emitted high sound waves and a burst of illumination over the gate's heavy iron lock.

A moment later, the lock sprung open.  The little crowd was sprinting through before they had time to marvel at what they had just seen - but Joly was reported to have returned a week later, waving around a metal rod of his own and taking avid notes about magnetism.
