7. Dream job? Hmmmm, I have a few ideas of stuff I like to do, like maybe being the librarian for the Academy Awards folks or the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (my boss's friend currently is). Or like, Library of Congress. Or the Bodleian Library. Or like, running a digital library for queer texts. OR SOMETHING IDK.
9. Most valuable advice you received about librarianship? Oh gosh. I don't know. My boss Kathleen has given me so much good advice, it's hard to pick just one. I know there's a quote floating around somewhere about how learning as much as you can about everything and being passionate is the key to be a good librarian. I like that quote a lot.
13. Strangest book title you've had to look up? I work in a music library, so I'm mainly looking up sheet music and scores. For a training thing, I had to look up materials on how to play the banjo. That was fun.
20. Thoughts on the matronly librarian stereotype? While I think there are some older folks in the profession who fit the stereotype, I think it's hurtful to lump all librarians into one category and personality type. We are a varied bunch, and I think we have to be in order to best serve the endless types of patrons. (Also, I think the matronly librarian stereotype is similar to the Old Maid stereotype, like in "It's a Wonderful Life," where only a woman who couldn't get a man would become a librarian, and that's bullshit, my friends.)
theinnkeeperlibrarian--I AM STARTING A LIST OF INTERESTED PARTIES RIGHT NOW! So far it's you and Diebrarian, with lecieltumultueux on Skype.

Didn’t know you were in the WNY area. Nice.

That is seriously the best thing. My husband and I spent an entire car ride in rapt silence, listening to a story about American amateur sumo in the same way. NPR is the best. :3
The host's voice was so gentile, it was like he was rocking me to sleep with his words.
OMG you're living the dream!! Congratulations!
Thank you so much! :)
