── .✦ pail matthews is, at most, a joke character, is how i will preface this. pail is one of the most common typos for trying to write paul. the real story behind him is that my friend was making an emoji in our discord server and accidentally named a photo of the creepy paul zoom 'pail'.

── .✦ pail matthews was born when theo matalon was born. theo was an actor, the apotheosis actor playing paul, but pail is different. pail is a separate entity from the apotheosis, which formed out of the remains of paul's mind. only showing up just barely near the end of the show, he pushes the passion part of the music forward. the humanity in it that cracks through the hums.

emma and pail have a very strained relationship. that's due to obvious reasons, considering the fact that he tried to kill her, but still. he likes to lean over her while she sleeps.

surprisingly theo and pail are not friends, even though depending on the reality they are the same entity. theo believes he should be the only singing paul, and pail believes in overthrowing the apotheosis government and being the only person to exist. never really saw eye to eye.

── .✦ pail is mostly known for his habit of specifying his name. it's a habit he got from being confused for theo all if the time. due to the fact he doesn't blink, breathe, or actively consume sustenance on a regular basis, he's a little bit stupid. he exists and processes things, just existing in his own little world sometimes. he comes out of it occasionally, saying something in proper english before retreating back into his little mind corner, but that's all he really does.

⭑ — the main song that comes to him is inevitable. if he starts on singing it, he will go begin to end if his cues are given. pail is just an unused vessel, basically. he's still got that leading man potential in him, though.
