          AU Headcanons for ‘Single Dad AU’ by thelampisaflashlight -Part 3

It’s canon that Ayumu looks like an identical copy of Dazai in every way, except for inheriting Chuuya’s nose. So like any new parent obsessed and over the moon about their child, Chuuya makes a point of constantly bringing up how much Ayumu ‘has his nose.’

In fact, he makes it a habit to take pictures with his phone of himself with Ayumu, their faces pressed close together, purposefully focused on their matching noses. ( Chuuya’s desperate to have his only son look like him in some way. So even if it’s a cute button nose, he’ll take it. )

Usually he uses a program or app that lets him write captions on the photos, which are usually boasting about how much they look alike or gushing about what they’re doing. It immediately gets old for everyone forced to see these photos, but somehow Chuuya never gets tired of these silly pictures of him and his son.

Flashforward to Ayumu’s college/highschool graduation and Chuuya’s still dragging Ayumu into face-smushing ‘nose-twins!!’ photos. ( Also gross sobbing in the last one because his baby is all grown up. )

Dazai’s reaction is usually a deadpan “.....No, stop that.” or indigent noises while he tries to break up this nonsense whenever he catches Chuuya subconsciously pointing out that Ayumu carries his genes too.

( Why? It’s an embarrassing reminder 1) Chuuya and him spent a night together 2) Ayumu is Chuuya’s son too but also because Dazai has to endure the fact Chuuya over-shares pictures of his son with everyone he trusts, reminding them of these facts too. )

Because Dazai insists on being there whenever Chuuya has Ayumu, he’s always attempting to interrupt Chuuya’s antics. This means Dazai basically ends up in all the ‘nose twins!’ pictures, while either trying to put his hand over the screen, taking the phone from Chuuya or darting into the frame within the background. Which makes for some hilarious ‘out-takes’. Chuuya keeps them all and has amassed a collection of Dazai making awful and hilarious faces.

Chuuya’s home screen is one of these, from one of the first times he started this nonsense. Dazai typically looks particularly put-out and annoyed in these photos. But this first one, he actually looks embarrassed, as if he’s been caught red-handed the second he’s been reminded of something worth getting worked up over. Which is pretty remarkable, since Chuuya has never seen him look  that vulnerable or honest before. 

Added angst: These are some of the only routine ‘family photos’ he has, because Dazai never really lets him take pictures of them as a unit unless it’s supposedly accidental or he’s caught unaware.

                   Headcanons from AU of Emil’s Single Dad AU

After a certain tryst Chuuya gets a rude awakening. Literally.

It’s a known fact that he has the bad habit of sprawling out in his sleep. He’s also particularly handsy. So it’s no surprise that he wound up clutching that person to his chest, the morning after their unexpected rendezvous. To add insult to injury, his head was resting gently atop theirs ( the way you would cradle a woman that’s smaller and more delicate ).

It’s that implication that sets off thoughts of revenge.

...Although it’s probably aided after struggling out of those clinging arms and meeting Chuuya’s irritatingly peaceful face dead-on, after a night of less than well-thought-out escapades.

It’s not like Chuuya’s sleeping face means to mock anyone. And it certainly doesn’t mean that Chuuya, when lucid and conscious, feels unburdened by the events of that night.

But if a certain someone, driven by their knot of regrets and confusion, wants to retaliate against such a contented expression - then not even reason can stop them. And it’s the kind of revenge that a few pinches of cheeks, tugs upon hair and frustrated poking to that worry-free face just can’t supply.

So Chuuya wakes to being robbed blind.

His wallet is gone. Along with all of his clothes.

A few streets over a woman down on her luck and in desperate need of a coat is handed something decadently fashioned in black. The rest of the clothes she’s given are met with the suggestion that they should be burned.

                 AU Headcanons from Emil’s Single Dad AU - Pt. 2

Chuuya secretly has been fixated on finding out who that mystery woman was that he spent the night with. Not only is it intensely unnerving that he can’t dredge up a single detail about The Tryst - no one he questions can either.

No one seems to have seen him leave with a companion he insists on being a woman - or anyone else for that matter. ( He seems to have walked out alone. Or at least ahead of anyone that might have followed, ) Or perhaps those questioned are too terrified of something worse than the Mafia to talk.

Chuuya‘s tried to imagine what she looked like and how their encounter went, and the more he thinks about it the more elaborate his imagined idea of the events becomes. So in his mind he might romanticize what happened, because he has no memory of anything awkward or disappointing or unsettling to ruin it for him.

This fixation has him frequently returning to a certain bar. until it becomes a habit. It’s his intention to be there in case the mystery woman from a certain tryst shoes up again, in hopes of making a more memorable encounter with them this time around. This time he’d want to start off on the right foot. A candlelit dinner at an exquisite restaurant is a good place to start, then maybe a long drive to someplace scenic where they could watch Yokohama’s sunset together.

And maybe it’s sunrise too.

So I was tagged by the lovely @empathique. I haven’t been on desktop for this blog here in forever and I don’t want to NOT do this so let’s go! 

1.Are you named after someone?

No, absolutely no. I seem to recall that my name was after someone else’s name just randomly picked out a credit roll after as movie my parents watched. Now my last name has a bit of history but I’ll only answer that if asked~

2.When was the last time you cried?

Ah, oddly enough two days ago. The timing was just horrible and everyone at home was just not in a happy mood. I was frustrated and moody some time before that moment so that didn’t help. Thankfully I was able to calm down after a while. 

3.Do you like your handwriting?

Eh, it has its ups and downs. Some days I have nice handwriting and some days I don’t. I don’t hate it but like is an overstatement too.

4.What is your favorite lunch meat?

Baloney:turkey or sweet honey turkey. I’m really old school. 

5.Do you have kids?

No and I’m on the fence on whether or not I do in the future.  

6.If you were another person, would you be friends with yourself?

Well, maybe? I mean, it’d be more like a sibling thing then actual friendship, I’m just a mess. Honestly, I can be the best or the worst person, depending on the type of person I’m befriending and how long we’ve been friends.

7.Do you use sarcasm?

It started in middle school and frankly, it’s become a third language for me more or less. I like to be positive on things but I have some amount of salt to season people at. 

8.Do you still have your tonsils?

Yep.

9.Would you bungee jump?

OH GOD NO. I’m very afraid of falling, I have had nightmares of me falling and frankly, I would scare myself awake at that. Even if my friends would do that, I just can’t. I’m not boring, I just don’t think my body can take it.

10.What’s your favorite kind of cereal?

UGH, I’m not too picky on that so I don’t have a favorite.

11. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?

No because I’m lazy like that but I have to untie them to put them back on and ugh, that’s something that will never change.

12. Do you think you are a strong person?

I would like to think so. I don’t know if I can say yes or no with such certainty. I do know that I have some degree of strength but I’m too biased on that.

13.What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?

Mint chocolate chip. FIGHT ME.

14.What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Well honestly, it’s their faces, their eyes really. Or sometimes the feeling when I turn my head and just look at their general direction. I mean, most of the time nothing would click. Whether or not they are a generally a nice person is whatever action or few next actions they make which sounds stupid but I’m complicated. Though I can sometimes tell when a person is just a ‘do not approach’ kind of person. 

15.Red or pink?

I’m leaning towards red because of reasons but I’ve been liking pink more lately.

16.What’s the least favorite physical thing you like about yourself?

My gut. I mean, obviously.

17. What color pants and shoes are you wearing now?

Black pants and no shoes.

18. What was the last thing you ate?

Spicy chicken wings at 7-11. Had a late lunch.

19. What are you listening to right now?

Beethoven virus. Forgot who made it.

20.If you were a crayon, what color would you be?

Majestic purple or something of the sort, the kind that is mistaken for black sometimes, Or was it that dark blue one? Either way.

21.Favorite smell?

Ugh, lemons or mint. Especially eucalyptus.

22. Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?

My mom.

23.Favorite game?

Eh, FNaF. I mean I don’t play game but I sometimes like the art or the stories behind the games like the LORE of it.

24. Hair color?

Naturally, it’s light brown/brown. Now I just had my hair highlighted so it’s brown with auburn-ish lines on it.

25. Eye color?

Light brown/hazel. It’s hard to tell so it’s either way.

26.Do you wear contacts?

Oh no, god forbid. I hate having things in my eyes so because of that fear, I rather wear glasses forever, which I am currently.

27.Favorite food to eat?

Lomo Saltado. Search it. It’s really good and it’s my current favorite dish to eat. Other then sweets and snow crab of course.

28.Scary movies or comedy?

I can do either way. I honestly can’t choose one or the other.

29. Last movie you watched?

The princess diaries: The engagement.

30. What color shirt are you wearing?

White.

31.Summer or winter?

How about neither?

32. Hugs or kisses?

Hugs, I love hugs. I can work with hugs. Especially ones that sway back and forth with you~

33.What book are you currently reading?’

Does manga count because honestly I haven’t been straight with legit book reading in a long while.

34. Who do you miss right now?

Well my best friend who is a couple states away. We’ve been friends online for years but only once I was able to visit. I wish we both have the time to do that more often.

35.What’s on your mouse pad?

Just standard black. I draw the line on how series can consume me. 

36. What’s the last TV show you watched?

TOSH.0 It’s alright.

37.What’s the best sound?

Crackling fire, the motion of a clear pool, the waves that an ocean makes....

39.What’s the furthest you have ever traveled?

Guatemala to visit family. It was fun and ate wonderful food and the weather is just amazing.

I can keep a tune while singing, I guess.....?

Since someone mentioned Dazai's "double suicide plan", I remembered that he hasn't said much regarding that since some of the very early chapters in the series, and, I think it's because his overall mood has gotten more serious. Dazai tends not to discuss things he sees as a "joke" when he's truly affected by something. You can actually tell his depression has grown worse by looking at his eyes.

Every time you tag something as "Juniper the cat" or mention them, I do a doubletake, because that's what we named our shop cat, so I go, "Crow knows Juni? How? Wait, right-"

This pic is a year or so old, she is now kind of chonky on account of being a spoiled baby, but it is what it is.

And, yes, that is a knife she's holding, my old manager gave it to her.
