Thelas raises an eyebrow as the Host summons the ingredients for the tea but he doesn't say anything. He saw weirder things and this 'Host' wouldn't surprise him any more. "Don't worry about me returning to my universe, I have a pretty good sense of orientation." He pauses. "But tell me - how can you become an entirely different person? I understand the whole name-changing thing. But just because you have a different name does it mean that you're an entirely different person as well."

“’That’s good,’ the Host responds, pouring steaming hot water from the previously empty kettle into the teacups. ‘I’m… not entirely sure, to be honest. I don’t have a very good memory of the time between when I was shot and when Dr. Iplier… started helping me take care of my eyes. I believe it was a very gradual change, though. I had never really felt pain before that day–so as you can imagine, being shot in the back was 100 times more agonizing than it would’ve been for the average human. I don’t know what caused me to feel pain that day, but I know that was the start of it.’

“‘After that, I think my powers started slipping. I became more closely knit with the other figments who modeled themselves after Mark, specifically Dark. And at some point my powers became future vision instead of absolute manipulation, and some time after that I lost my eyes. My entire personality changed too, though it could be due to some sort of trauma from being shot and losing my eyes. I lost my connection to the Author’s realm and created a new one, though the Author’s realm still exists somewhere else far from here. And now I’m me.’

“’I hope that answers your question at least somewhat. I’m not really sure how all this happened myself. I’ve just been living with it,’ the Host explains. ‘I stopped asking questions when people stopped being able to answer me. So I haven’t thought of it much, I suppose.’“

Thelas nods and stays quiet for a while, listening to the Hosts words. "Well I can relate to how painful a bullet wound is to some point but the other stuff..." He pauses and sighs. "There are a lot of things that happen with us not being able to really act." He smirks. "Fate can be pretty bad sometimes, hm? So you're saying that you left all of this behind? No regrets or things you miss? I wouldn't want to be blind and not being able to use a weapon properly anymore."

“‘So you’ve been shot before? That’s unfortunate…,’ the Host notes, handing Thelas a tea cup and taking a sip from his own. ‘That’s true, that’s just how things work, isn’t it?’ he responds, sitting back down in his office chair and lounging a little.

“‘Yes, I suppose fate has been exceptionally cruel to me. I… haven’t necessarily left it behind, though. Of course not. It’s still a part of me, I just can’t access it most of the times. There’s been a couple of times where I can just barely grasp the power that the Author used to have, but it’s only when I’m angry, and always slips out of my grasp once I’ve calmed down. And I still technically have control of my old realm, but I suppose I wouldn’t be able to repair it if it were somehow destroyed.

“‘And of course I have regrets and things I miss. I miss holding that much power in my hands, but now I know that I was not the right person to be holding power like that. I abused it and I didn’t have any friends, any people I could rely on, because I was so insistent on being independently power. And… I don’t mind my blindness all the time… I just can’t read anymore. That’s the worst part in all of this, if I’m being honest.’“

Thelas sighed with a growl. "I knew there had to be something off when I entered here." He raised his hands. "No need to apologize ... that's what I get for trying to take a job from another universe." He falls silent for a moment, still wearing a pokerface. "I came all the way here so I might stay for a while and collect my thoughts, so yes - something to drink would be nice. A tea, maybe?" He looked at the Hosts bandaged face. What a strange person ...

“‘That’s fair, this place is very different from the Author’s realm,’ the Host says. ‘I’m surprised you got lead here, since my original realm was in a different spot before I moved it… I’m glad you were able to find me, though,’ the Host continues. ‘And… taking a job from another Universe? You’re not from here? Interesting….’

“The Host perks up a little when he hear that Thelas wants to stay for a little while. He always enjoys company, and this man specifically seems interesting. ‘Alright, I’ll get your tea up and started. Any type of tea you want or just any old type of tea?’ The Host can feel Thelas watching him, studying his face carefully, but he just smiles lightly.”
