    It was nice to be back home again, in the open plains of Gran Pulse. Sure, it didn’t have the luxuries Cocoon did, but it was home all the same, where she grew up and learned how to survive. The others, however, didn’t seem too happy to be here, other than Fang of course. Then again, with the way they were taught, Vanille supposed she could understand... a little anyway. It had been the same way for her when it came to Cocoon.

    While the others began to set up camp, the redhead soon found herself wandering the familiar surroundings, a soft hum coming from her as she moved, coming to a stop at a nearby stream. Looking around her, making sure there were no fiends present, Vanille allowed herself to take a seat at the bank, allowing her hand to run over the water’s surface, her thoughts soon wandering from her, not hearing the footfalls of the blonde behind her.
