so outside of the memo, how does one person privately message another?

The person who wants to contact another privately would do so in whatever land, or area they are in. To start a private message with someone else, you should write down the beginning of a pester [ie: (chumhandle) [(abbreviation)] has begun pestering (chumhandle) [(abbreviation.)]

 Unlike the memo, where you just write normally without your character’s chumhandle abbreviation, in a private message you should include the abbreviation. Here’s an example of a private message:
