Actually, no MSPA adventure features real branching paths (except Bard Quest, and they are the reason it was abandoned). The ones in Problem Sleuth are fake (as in one of them always leads to a Bad End in short order) and [screener trix: redacted]

For the record, the branching paths in Problem Sleuth are generally only about two pages, then you get a game over and are directed back to the main path.

Nooo, why would you do that?! When PS branches off, one page tends to be "nope. Go back." He tried to do a real pick-your-own-adventure in Bard Quest but he gave up on it because it was too complicated.

The split paths in Problem Sleuth are no more than 2 pages at most, then you go back to the other path. Just take the upper one first.

Those scalemates totally exist online to buy. I have one but actually it's one my friend made me! Anyways FYI, the branching paths in Problem Sleuth are actually usually just a branch that dead-ends after a few pages, and another that actually continues the story, so don't be too daunted by that! Hussie tried to experiment with more properly branching paths in Bard Quest and quit pretty early on because it didn't work very well.

Branched commands in PS don't go too far, as far as I remember. Either they end in Game Over or in loops I think maybe?... Either way, there's only one single plot. Branches are just gimmicks. Don't worry and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD KEEP READING PS IS BEAUTIFUL [screener trix: redacted] ^^

It's specifically the WHITE king's scepter that triggers the Reckoning, since it's supposed to only happen when black (inevitably) beats white (and the black king gets his hands on the white scepter)

Actually, it's specifically the White King's Scepter that controls the Reckoning: when  Black inevitably defeats White, The Black King grabs the White King's scepter and sends the meteors to destroy the Battlefield... Only Jack is the one who performed that role instead. Why is it that black HAS to win? Well, there's your answer: how else would the kids arrive?

I believe Karkat mentioned that the Reckoning is a power specifically tied to the White King's Scepter. That's why the Dersites have to win (and eventually always win) on the Battlefield, because that's when they have the opportunity to start the meteor shower, seeding the planet with the players for the game to eventually begin. In a "normal game" the White King would be killed or captured to get the scepter.

Fuck, how the hell did I miss that??? CAUSALITY, BRO. GODDAMN THAT IS SO FUCKING COOL. I may rescind this opinion later, but as of this moment I fucking LOVE TIME SHENANIGANS.

Trivia time! The Warhammer of Zillyhoo was created back in the Problem Sleuth days. Not in the story canon, but early on Hussie would create extra panels for user-submitted commands through donations. It was through these donations the Midnight Crew was also created! mspaintadventures*com/extras/ps000025*html Soon enough you'll be able to view all of them, but the main page of donation commands contains one last spoiler.

The Warhammer of Zillyhoo actually debuted on the bonus donation pages of Problem Sleuth. So anyone who read PS (and the bonus pages), which at the time was most of the fandom, didn't really need to see the name to know what the hammer was called. (Act 5 is when the huge influx of new fans happened. It is that awesome. Get hype.)

Have you ever read Problem Sleuth, Hussie's previous MS Paint Adventure? There were some non-canon bonus panels for it, including those featuring a set of evil counterparts to the PS protagonists, called the Midnight Crew. Hence why Hussie typed in Spades Slick's name for Jack Noir when Jack was introduced - the character of Slick already existed, whereas the character of Jack did not. There was also a bonus panel starring the Warhammer of Zillyhoo, in case you were wondering about that.

Woah, I didn’t know that about the Midnight Crew! I only got about a third of the way through PS before reading and writing about Homestuck kind of took over my free time. The Zillyhoo comic is great. Was the hammer totally Hussie’s design?? (I ask because the back end with the little rainbow star branch thing totally looks like a bizarre dildo with G-spot attachment and I would NOT put it past Hussie to design it that way on purpose.)

Oh. Well, by "exits being inoperable" the narration probably meant only the transportalizer exits. AR presumably got John out the same way he came in (presumably through a door, which without the rocket board wouldn't really be considered an exit, since you would still be on a speeding meteor, thus, still in danger).

Aha! Well, that (and the 8 other asks I received on the subject) answers that! :PGeez, Nora, that's kind of obvious in retrospect...

AR didn't get out of the ectobiology lab. He rode it to future wasteland Earth and located the Frog Temple after landing. If he landed on the Frog Temple meteor then he either would have been around with Jade (if carapaces are immortal) or died bilions of years in the past (if they aren't)

I know AR didn't get out; I was asking how he got John out if there were no operable exits.
