I knew mail art was a thing, but I didn’t know how much of a thing until I started this project. The mail art community is extraordinarily vibrant, especially on Tumblr. 

For those that don’t know what mail art is, it’s when mail is used as a medium, not just a means. Envelopes can be oil paintings, packages – sculptures.

Miranda of The Love Parcel is like the Don of the Mail Art mob. She makes mail masterpieces. It’s incredible what she creates, combining seemingly disparate ephemera (disparate is my fault, ephemera is hers – it’s a great word and it’s all over her blog) to craft these intricate 3D collages. 

I asked her: “What do you value most?” This is her response.
