Postcards

I get into slumps, where it’s very hard for me to keep myself motivated. I’ve realized in the past years that writing helps, keeping my creativity going helps, and having something to look forward to helps.

For those of you who are new to my page, and those of you who have stuck with me through the beginning, I apologize for the lack of posts. Life has just gotten in the way, and in the past years I’ve been doing less and less of that I love.

So here’s the thing, for those of you who are interested, I want to start sending out letters again. Okay, maybe not letters, but post cards. Of fun little things I’ve done that day/week, maybe a poem I read that i enjoyed, song lyrics, or a fun little quote. I will start with a postcard a week, and gradually to one a day. Sharing my own personal joy with all of you. I’ll document and share with all of you all of those postcards, and if any of you are interested I’ll mail them out at random as well. I’ve collected a lot of very random, very very random, postcards through out the years and I think they’re ready for a new home.

With that being said, if you are interested in one please let me know. I’m willing to send them anywhere in the world.

DIY Favorite Stamp Necklace

Valentine’s day is coming up, and as promised, here is a very easy DIY on how to make your very own necklace.

 A perfect gift for a pen pal or a small gift to treat yourself with. 

You will need:

1in Hole Punch

Necklace or Chain

1in Pendant

Split Rings (if pendant requires it)

Favorite Stamps

Resin or Poxie Dots

* You can purchase your supplies at any craft store and in any style.

First Step is to cut out your favorite stamp. I prefer to turn my punch over to give me a better view of what i’m doing. 

Next you stick your stamp or image on to the pendant. Followed by covering with Resin or Epoxy dots. I prefer the look of Resin and usually let is dry overnight. Remember not to shake the Resin bottle or it can cause air bubbles.

*The pendant on the left has an Epoxy Dot and the one on the right is filled with Resin.

Don’t forget to add a split ring to your pendant if it requires it.

For example the pendant on the left is ready to hang on the necklace and looks great with bigger chains. The other two require a split ring. Both pendants work great, I just personally prefer the way the pendants on the right look with the vintage Walt stamp.

The wonderful thing is the many images you can put on your pendant. You can use stamps, book pages, fabric, Disneyland maps, and so much more.

What small/thin things can you send to your pen pal?

Everything and anything really!Small items that fit easily such as stickers, bookmarks, extra notecards, washi tape rolled on a thick piece of paper, a pamphlet from your travels or your city, photographs, pressed pennies, gift cards, book recommendations, friendship bracelets, tea bags or hot chocolate, a ticket from a recent event, an inspirational quote, stamps. The possibilities are endless.
