The March (the candy shop)
I’ve waited, on this day It was this day that we walk It was this day that we all walked But we all came, Whatever the cost, we came to this place I sat by the window watching as we drove there At a distance we could see the smoke rise And we knew we we’re close At the base of the mountain In the rye we could hear the screams That terrible sound I know I sat in the back seat And watched from my window I watched the people I watched them; as some drove, some walked they took trains, they rode the bus, anything to get here Whatever it took to get here Some looked on, and waited for the outcome of this day How tragic this day, no one would have ever thought of a day like this The blood that ran in the river The carnage that flowed in that river I thought that maybe someone could make it go away Make this all some terrible dream I think. I ponder, do I want pixie sticks or gumdrops- a cherry one But I know I sat in the back, looking out the window Hoping the horror would end, that the smoke would clear But I know I sat in the back seat Random Chaos We move to the field in any form of transport As long as we got there See the smoke in the distance Cement roads become dirt Then we walk into grass and through rye We all walk towards the smoke We came to see Random Chaos
