theres this girl, i grew up with her

pictures of her face scattered around the house

i know my family misses that little girl. They never outright say it, but I know they do.

i guess sometimes I miss her too

or the idea of her at least

she was kind, sweet...nieve.

I wonder what she'd think of me

after she left I changed

but I'm happier now

I just hope she's happy for me to

sculpting is such an intimate art. People will say

I suppose it is

pushing and pulling the features of a person until they're utterly perfect in one's eyes

the touches that leave a permanent impact on the face

to be sculpted by you would be a dream, my love

"I wanted you to live! why would you do this?" says the girl to her lover, standing before her in a plane not know by any living man.

the teen crouches to his knees and looks the girl in the eyes

he cups her cheek

it's stained with tears

"never" he promises and leaves

a girl, not so young anymore, watches the now adult get in his friends car and drive off

the promise of coming back soon to be broken

now a teen, no longer a girl nor a boy, asks the adult "do you remember me?"

he smiles

cups his siblings cheek

"of course."

and so the sun and stars wail, for they thought no one could out shine them. yet there you are dancing among them shimmering more beautifully then all
