((That's really true. Because Watanuki legitimately shows no interest in Doumeki and barely tolerates him as a friend. He made sacrifices like the eye out of guilt and then through Yuuko guidance made the stretch to be friends again after the eye stuff.
I just feel if Yuuko wants it, it must be so. But it seemed so forced since Watanuki's heart has always been elsewhere despite what everyone said.
Also the eye thing. Lots of Clamp soul mates do the eye thing.
It dates back all the way to RG Veda (their first series) but Wish explained it. Giving up your left eye for the one you love. Demons do it and in doing so give up half their power. (Power thing is not always relevant) Yasha lost his eye for Ashura (Though not quite in the same context), Sei gave up his eye for Subaru. Then Subaru gave up his eye for because of Seishirou in X, Wish does it, TRC does it a lot. Holic does it where both Doumeki and Watanuki give up their eyes. (Which makes me upset because that was the clearest of clear giveaways and I just ignored the hell out of it)
In the current timeline (not including Rei) Doumeki is dead so I guess it doesn't matter. Because if it's one thing their doing in Rei it's reminding you that once something is gone it's gone forever and there is no going back. I know it implies more to Yuuko but all of Wata's friends are dead in the Holic.
Whatever is going on in Rei is amplified and strange. Mokona is missing, the bird, the pipe fox, I think Watanuki's eyes are the same shade not the duel colors. Yuuko's phrasing is different as well when it comes to things.
I don't know what's going on. But I'm scared too. ))

I really can't. It's one of those kinds of ships where they fight and argue and show no actual interest in each other. I really detest those ships.
And if it wasn't for the curiosity of me going omg what is happening I probably wouldn't bother too much with this one cause /constant/ longing stares of Doumeki and the constant reminder that they're a married couple are so so so soooooooo irritating.

I wonder if it's all in Watanuki's head and the things that were hinted out before are now being screamed at him. Or if its just how the translators are choosing to phrase it as. I'm over it to put it simply.
The next update is going to be good tho. Unless he's interrupted again. And I'll be so mad if he is. ))

((OK. I really did miss it. I've read it twice and didn't catch it either time. I needed Hyuu #1 and Labby to explain it in great detail and I was like. Nooooo I don't think so.
I guess if I think about it really hard. I can kinda see it. Doumeki is pretty devoted for no reason other than he must like Watanuki.
It's one sided though. Completely and utterly which I think must have been what threw me off cause ships are never one sided in Clamp. At least not the soul mate ships. (Fandom can argue Kamui / Fuuma but that's not a soul mate ship to me. Kamui loved someone else. I just. ) I think I was so against the idea of the fandom pushing another girl aside to ship the two male characters which happens a lot in Clamp despite Clamp catering to nearly every kind of ship. Yuuko gets booted for Clow / Yue, Kotori was pushed aside for Kamui / Fuuma, and I think that's what I saw here and was just not going to play that game with the fandom this time.
So I completely disregarded a lot of information that I probably shouldn't have and I think I should probably reread Holic again cause I'm clearly missing it.
