* F L A S H B A C K* {Harry discovers a secret world, with the perfect girl}
Harry sat on a rotted stump, making designs in the mud near the creek with a long, knobby stick. His aunt and uncle had dragged him to Aunt Marge's house for Dudley's 6th birthday and after being shoved around, kicked, tripped, and shouted at by every member of the household, he had raken Vernon's orders to "GET OUTTA THE WAY, BOY!" as an excuse to come hide out in the woods. Poor Owana was being used as a maid, to bring drinks and food to the guests. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a small green snake slither by, seemingly harmless. Nonetheless, a natural fear of snakes curled in his stomach and he said, "Now, don't come too close. I'm warning you." To his surprise, the snake turned to face him, "Wassssn't planning on it, kid. What're ya gonna do, beat me with that ssssstick?" It chuckled sarcastically as it disappeared beneath a clump of wet leaves. Harry shook his head, wondering if the fact that he'd had nothing to eat since yesterday morning was.beginning to effect him. "Hello." A soft, bell-like voice sounded from behind him and he jumped nearly a foot in the air. He stood up to face her. "Hello." The girl had thin, soft-looking blobde hair and protrubent blue eyes. She wore a checkered blue dress with frilly socks and red shoes. She looked like a small, blonde Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. "Are you one of Dudley's friends?" He asked, though sure he hadn't seen her at the party. She frowned, "Who's Dudley? I live over that way, and I sensed your magic. Daddy said only Muggles lived around here, so I got curious." The girl was obviously not one of his cousin's friends. She was too weird, and spoke of magic and some made-up 'm' word. His uncle hated magic. He once hit hin across the head for wanting a magician starter kit off the telly. "I'm not quite sure I know what you're talking about," he announced, hands in his pockets. "You sensed my magic?" He looked down, wondering.if something he was wearing had magic on it. No, just one of Dudley's old tee-shirts and a a pair of really old jeans. "Yep. You're a wizard. And judging by that mark on your forehead, I'd say you're Harry Potter! My mommy and daddy speak very highly of you. It's a pleasure to meet you." Harry's head spun, "How do you know my na--" he cringed as his head reverberated with his uncle's bellow.of "HAAAAAAAAAARRY POTTER!!" The girl frowned, "That isn't a very nice way to speak to the boy who defeated You-Know-Who." "What? Wait--" He looked up as he saw Owana running towards him, as if she had known exactly where he was. "Hurry, Harry! We're in trouble! Marge told me dad was no-good trash and I dunno how but the cake exploded in her face. Vernon said we can't have dinner tonight either!" Harry and his stomach grumbled in unison. "I hope I get to see you again, Harry Potter." The girl said. "Wait, you never told me...what's your na--" He turned around, and she was gone.

ooc: Oh dear. XENO WOULD NOT BE TELLING HIS LUNA ABOUT THINGS LIKE THIS.
Ginny,
I say we have a shopping day when you come back. I’ve been meaning to have one, but I can’t bring myself to go alone. Nothing really fun has been going on here — I’ve been spending time with my father, and I believe I have a way to keep wrackspurts away. Just have to undergo a couple more experiments…
Harry’s been too busy for his own good as of late. I suspect nargles are behind it. They must be the jealous type. We should do something to fix that when you’re in town.
I miss you, Gin. Keep the nargles away while you’re gone!
~Luna
Luna,
Shopping sounds great. We haven't been since the day we went to get Harry a gift. Oh! That's great. I'm sure the readers will love to hear about what you two have found out. How is your father? Say hi, won't you?
Yeah, I supposed it might be busy with the Auror department. I do hope they are getting somewhere. I don't want to have to think about us all living in fear again. But, maybe the Nargles should work on trying to assist them.
I will, Luna.

What Xeno Remembers...
Summary: What Xenophilius Lovegood remembers of the night he lost his wife.
"Where the wave of moonlight glosses The dim gray sands with light, Far off by furthest Rosses We foot it all the night, Weaving olden dances Mingling hands and mingling glances Till the moon has taken flight; To and fro we leap And chase the frothy bubbles, While the world is full of troubles And anxious in its sleep. Come away, O human child! To the waters and the wild With a faery, hand in hand, For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand."
--W.B.Yeats, The Stolen Child
Years later, Xeno couldn't remember what made him leave his desk. He didn't remember if he heard sounds or smelled burning or if he ran or if he walked with hesitation and dread. He wouldn't even remember what he had been working on. The memory of that awful night began with him rooted to the spot in horror his eyes fixed and staring.
He cracked like an egg all reason all logic all sense calm warmth drained away gone
obliterated, broke--
n
replaced by chaos and questions and reeling rage and desperate reaching and an insatiable craving to try filling the void and keep the fragile, brittle shell of what was left of him from floating away on the next wind out of the gaping hole in the roof to battle the gods, claw out of the deepest black hole's gravitational pull, to sacrifice his very being, to do anything to restore her essence and bring her
home.
He sank to his knees beside her and moved a strand of hair away from her face.Xeno softly kissed her lips as if they were in a fairytale. He drew away, but she didn't stir.He brushed his hand against her cheek. He spied Luna out of the corner of his eye.He stood, turned towards her, and scooped her up in his arms. "Come away oh human child, to the waters and the wild..."
The room seemed suffocating to him even with the view of the stars. He carried Luna outside and walked to the nearby stream. The smell of smoke and the tang of broken magic faded away in the cool air. He sat Luna near the stream before plopping himself next to her. He kissed the top of her head. "Wait for me, my Luna. Don't go in the stream. Perhaps later we can camp under the stars..."
It seemed less real here. It was possible it had been a bad dream. He had fallen asleep at his desk. Why not? Still, he wasn't about to let Luna--whether it be a version of her in a nightmare his subconscious had conjured or not--sit out here in the cold without a jacket. He walked back to the house to fetch one for her. He retrieved one from the closet. He paused in the living room.If this was his dream and he was aware it was a dream then he controlled what happened. Yes. He'd tell his wife about his idea to camp under the stars with Luna. And Jessie would scold him for not having made sure their Luna had a jacket before going outside. Yes.
He never made it to the spare room's door. The burnt smell made him feel sick and he could feel himself starting to crumble. He sprinted out of the house and tried to smile when he helped Luna with her jacket. "Remember what I said?" Luna nodded. He kissed the top of her head again. He turned away and closed his eyes and tried to focus.
He apparated onto Millie's doorstep and knocked on the door. She opened the door. Xeno threw his arms around her.He wrapped his arms tighter around Millie. No,no.The crack was spreading, splintering, trying to make him fall apart, crackle him into pieces of eggshell. The wind was going to take him away. And part of him wanted it to...wanted it to bring him to where ever she was, but now, he was breaking. He didn't think he had the strength to wage war to return the both of them to this weeping world. And he realized how pathetic this thought was--he couldn't even fight for the one woman who loved and understood him completely. The only possible way he could redeem himself from his shame was to stay for their child. He clung tighter to Millie. Don't let me float away, don't let me, don't let me, Luna needs me. Don't let me float away. Don't let me. Don't let me.Do not. Don't. Please...
He felt the jarring pull of apparation and Millie tore away from him. He sank to the ground, digging his nails into the grass and the earth trying to hold on. He realized he was crying and he pressed his forehead into the grass, and squeezed his eyes shut.A light finger tapped him on the shoulder and he raised his head. Luna.He curled his arms around her and held her.He didn't know how long. It may have been hours. It may have been a moment.
And that was the last section of memory Xeno had of that night.
