A/N: Sorry I took so long lol, I kinda forgot about this until I got a very nice ask from someone curious about the series, but once I get going I'm going so I am currently at the time of posting this. I have chapter four already started. Ps I got sick and forgot to post it 🤦🏼♀️
Getting food did little to settle my nerves, as we loaded back up into baby I could tell that Dean was lost in thought and that Sam was uncomfortable with the situation. There was no lore on your best friend angle turning themselves into god and threatening you. Sam without research to do and Dean without a monster to stab seemed off kilter. Dean's offness was different though it wasn't due to anger or anxiety it was just different. He was weighing his options. I too was silent in the backseat as we drove, with not even the radio blaring in the car. All I had was my thoughts, but being mute you become very good at watching other people and anticipating their next moves. The silence could also be the dark cloud that was overhead. Cas would be back soon, he was bringing the vitamins that I had to take. If i didnt take them i would be locked in heaven with him, till he destroyed what earth is and rebuilt it into what he thought it should be. Stressed would be an understatement to describe the car, and just as I thought it couldn't get more tense we passed the sign saying Now Entering South Dakota.
Then out of nowhere i was hit with this feeling of something i cant explain like my chest exploded and my eyes couldn't focus, and i was hit with one thought over and over again that i was going to be left, and dean was going to die. All of a sudden it was like I was underwater. I couldn't hear anyone or catch my breath and I was dizzy. The next thing I knew I was being shaken and I grabbed at the hands holding on to me, unable to tell who it was and started to say "please don't leave me” over and over and over. Until it all stopped, I looked up and Cas was there and my brothers were next to him. Sam looked sick like he might not hold down the questionable salad he got at the diner and Dean looked sad, more sad than I had ever seen him look.
“What happened?” I asked, looking to anyone to answer
“You started to freak out and looked like you might pass out” Dean said
“You started crying too, out of nowhere” Sam added, getting down next to me, Dean not far behind.
Cas stepped up to where I was, that was when I noticed I was on the ground and not in the car. When did that happen?
“I knew I should have never left you in their care, look at what has happened and in such a short amount of time”
That was the thing that made my heart stop. I looked up at him from where I was on the ground and the irony didn’t escape me.
“Please, im sorry please don’t” i begged cas, i dont know why i begged it wouldnt stop him.
Cas looked at me for a moment or two, and then at my brothers, who were still sitting next to me on the wet concrete and finally spoke.
“OK, you will stay but I will have to set some rules that will be followed. Lest you all know the consequence.”
Dean looked up at Cas and he clenched his fist the way he did when he was angry
“And what will these rules be, Cas? How much will you police her life?”
Cas looked unaffected by Dean's angry questionings,
“Yes, Dean. These rules will set the boundaries that will protect your sister the way you cannot.”
Calm was the only way to describe him calm, so much unlike me or my brothers. Dean who was angry, Sam who was scared, and me who was still coming down from the panic that consumed me. I could still feel my heart beating in my chest and my fingertips were still numb, looking down at my hands they were still shaking”
“So what are these magical and protecting rules?” Sam asked, looking at Cas like he’d never seen him before
“ Number one- No hunting, 2. Taking the vitamins everyday-” he held out the vitamins that had brought him back to us, Dean taking them “- 3. Make sure she's happy 4. A healthy diet.” he took a second. Was thinking probably wording the next rule carefully before finally speaking. “Finally, you can't abandon her.”
I tensed up and felt Sam tense beside me. The one thing that we hadn’t told Dean, now out in the open. Not that I told Dean much since he got back, but I knew he was going to be angry, especially finding out this way. I couldn’t believe Cas put that out there, not that small promises he made to me would matter anymore.
Dean looked between me and Sam for a moment, before turning towards Cas. He looked down at the three different vitamins in his hand, vitamins for me.
“Alright,-” he said not looking at anyone “- we will follow your” he gestured around with his hands in a circle like fashion “ Rules.” he said with a finality that made my stomach drop. I didn’t expect him to agree, I thought he would fight or tell Cas that nobody could control me. We were all tired though, especially me. So I could still understand why he chose to accept rather than fight.
I looked back at Cas, he seemed surprised at Dean's response. Staring at Dean he nodded at him once before turning to me.
“Okay, little one I leave you with them, but remember I'm only a prayer away. And-” me and my brothers tensed again, the exhaustion starting to seep into my bones “- I will still be doing check ups. Remember I have not forsaken you and I never will.”
With that he placed a hand on my head, not unlike how he used to when we first met, before disappearing with the sound of wings. Leaving us in the wet concrete next to baby.
