Catching up on #themoonstardustandskychallenge Day 4 and 5: Snippet Saturday and self-care Sunday. The hums rolled in slowly, barely audible at first, rising to an ethereal whisper. Maw’s heart seized in anticipation as the sound of violins joined the haunting melody of hums. The music made love to his ears. For the first time that evening, he took interest in what was happening on the stage. His ears took in the musical foreplay, enticing him; waking a long dormant part of him to stiffen against his jeans. The violins played on, the violinist used their bow to pull every ounce of sorry out of the strings. Each melancholy note spoke to his heart. He sat on the edge of his seat, waiting for what or who rested behind the velvet curtain. There came a swell of sound before it dropped to oblivion, taking his mind with it. Just as he thought he could take it no more there came the crescendo. An explosion of hums, violins, and drums all working in harmony to illuminate the beauty who seemed to levitate to the stage. She stole the breath out of the room as she made her slow slide to the pole. Her body moved with the sensual awareness of a panther lazily pursuing wounded prey. It took some time to realize but I based him off of my sibling's dad. Right down to him calling me a sexual slur.
