Your post about how parents shouldn't punish their kids over grades is SO spot on. Throughout my childhood I was pushed so hard to do accelerated classed and AP classes (this started as early as 6th grade) and I remember being tormented and punishes so severely to the point I had breakdowns over getting an 89 in a class. Fast forward to high school, I had dropped every AP class because the anxiety it induced was so severe I couldn't cope.. and I ultimately dropped out Junior year. Crazy, right?
