So I dipped - reasoning being university again

Butttttttt I finally finished Character Design reference sheets for all of my lead Comic Characters so I thought I’d go and post them, I love these guys so much and would love to ramble on more about them as people but these are primarily just character Design notes rather than about their personalities or plot relevance lol (Given they were mostly drawn for ArtFight) These are all self-indulgent and probably won’t be interesting to people who aren’t me however I’m proud of them so :) A lil bit of information about the comic story under the cut in case anyone at all is interested in my ramblings:

So the Principle of Paranoia:

The story primarily follows a group of five teenage friends in Northern England in their first year of Sixth Form (which is the 2nd to last year of high school for non-Brits) wherein one of their number, Rihan has recently gone missing with little to no leads or explanation. This coincides with a strange gap in the memories of most of the town and an increasing level of disturbance and oddities in the natural order of the world around them. The story is told across two timelines: the primary present day happenings, of the five as late teens, trying to work out what could’ve happened to Rihan, intercut with excerpts from the past 3 years of their lives, starting when they all became friends and following what happened as they began to get introduced to and mess around with the supernatural elements all around them that were shut off from them only by the thin veil between layers of reality.  The story is primarily a mystery but a lot of the mystery is moreso on the audience, with the intention being that the audience have to piece together what happened from using what they begin to learn about the past to inform the future - where characters are already a lot more aware of their own context and the power of the supernatural than readers are.

It’s basically just my excuse to psychoanalyse my experience of high school alongside drawing creepy supernatural stuff forests lol.

Stuff like that ^^ is kinda the aesthetic we’re going for!  Idk I’m just really excited to get on with creating and writing it and I’m hoping at least someone enjoys it lol.

I don't care what people think of Ange or Chloe but this scene was cute and you won't be able to convince me otherwise.

Also poor Fletch, being rejected for Ange, but can we have more Batman/Robin (Ange/Theo) scenes please!

Holby City S21 E11 & 12 - A Simple Lie - Parts 1 & 2

So, since scheduling pushed these two episodes to consecutive days, and since they’re essentially one story, it seemed practical and convenient to put them together here (not to mention the fact that I’m a week late!)

So, Holly.  I am so, so grateful that they finally let her have some peace.  Whilst I have every sympathy for the family dealing with an unimaginable situation, to carry on with nothing but false hope and fake promises was painful.

That it should be set against the backdrop of Ric, and Kofi and Darla’s religious beliefs was well timed.

The Frieda and Zosia relationship was interesting, I had forgotten that Frieda had been ‘in love with’ Ollie, I thought initially it was to do with Elliot or something!  But I am glad they found their detente, Zosia might not be around for long, but I do like her and I want to enjoy her time there.  (Still think Ollie could be the father of her baby though).

The appearance of Chloe’s ex was... curious.  So, he’s heading in permanently, right?  I’m not sure where he’s going to fit in, to be honest.  Certainly didn’t feel any chemistry there.

Donna and Xavier’s mum.  Well, Xav’s mum is deliciously conniving, isn’t she?!  The question is, can she do it?  Can she split them up?  I am fine either way - I like to see conniving people get stamped down, but then I’m fine if Xav and Donna split too, so I guess I’ll just sit back and enjoy the ride!

Theo’s disappearance was the oddest storyline ever.  I mean, I get highlighting the problems with the protesters, and I get why you might want to throw in a misdirect, but something as random as bringing Amira back for a single episode just to have made her the kidnapper seemed frankly pretty nonsensical.  Ah, well, someone somewhere clearly thought it was a good idea.  Have to admit, that this entire storyline didn’t really grip me, although I did enjoy seeing a hint of the Jac and Fletch dynamic.  (Speaking of - I am really NOT enjoying the potential Flange set up.  I do NOT see Fletch and Ange together under ANY circumstances!!!)

When you trawl through the casualty s28 episode list on Wikipedia to find out when, exactly, Theo Fletcher was born, because it's been bugging you how old he is meant to be and it turns out he's only 2 months younger than Emma, and it feels like Holby don't know the ages of Fletch's kids

I enjoyed messing with trying to go for a vaguely nostalgic vibe for this piece both cause that’s kinda how I’ve been feeling atm and also because that’s kinda the vibe of a significant chunk of the comic.
