E for I'll See You on the Other Side?
E: If you wrote a sequel to [insert fic], what would it be about?
I’ve thought about this a lot, tbh. It would start with Aaron, Bell, and Alex all in their mid 30s. They’re all still together, of course, but having their fare share of problems.
It would focus on how all of them don’t really know how to have normal lives, ya know? Basically it would be about them learning to live since they really only lived during the war time years.
A big plot point would be Bell wanting kids, and Aaron kind of freaking out about it, thinking he can’t be a dad or worrying that another war will happen and he won’t raise a kid in that, and Alex doesn’t want to be tied down by that responsibility since he’s just starting to go to school and teach and whatnot. Plus there’s the whole thing where they have to deal with everything else still going on (Aaron’s depression and his leg, Bellamy’s PTSD, Alex’s seizures, etc)
I think it would eventually end with them adopting. Alex starts to think about how he could be a father figure to some kid like Washington was to him, and Aaron admits how appealing the idea of having a family is, since it’s been so long.
They would adopt a daughter and name her Sally.
And maybe I’d fast-forward a bit and write about them raising their daughter and being a family. They would make Theo Jr. the godmother and Madison godfather, knowing how much it would mean for him to be involved and would give him a reason to come over and spend time at their house. And Laf is kind of the secondary godfather cause wherever Madison goes, he goes.
And Eliza and Theodosia would adopt at some point as well, once Theo Jr. is getting closer to going to college. And Eliza and Alex freak out about being parents together, and Theodosia is coming over constantly to help out with Sally Jr. or calm Aaron down when he needs it.
Maria and Angelica never get around to having a kid, both of them set on traveling as much as possible. But they babysit Eliza and Theodosia’s kid all the time and visit Aaron, Bell, and Alex, too. They fill their role as cool aunts very well.
Basically all of them are one big happy, complicated family, and I love them.
But yeah, that’s what I got.
Philip: (To Theo) My love for you is like diarrhea. I just can't hold it in...!
Theo: That is the worst and the best pick-up line I have ever heard.
Theo Jr.'s room would be an absolute mess. Everyone is always so surprised when they see it, because in all other aspects of life (especially school) she appears a completely organised, "has it together" kind of person. But she has books and loose paper EVERYWHERE, she hasn't done washing in almost two weeks so there's piles of clothes on every surface, and it takes her ages to actually *find* anything. And she shares this trait with her father. Theo Snr is up to her ears in clutter; Save her.
XD YES and whenever Philip comes over to clean, bc of course he does, she comes home and is like “NO! PIP I HAVE A SYSTEM!! I HAVE A SYSTEM!” And Philip just steals all her laundry, runs down the street and does it at his house. Though probably when guests come (important guests, not philip or georges) it takes her 5 minutes to clean up everything and put it all away and it stays that way for maybe...like 2 days before it descends into anarchy again. But it’s like, clean mess, ya know? Like she’s messy, but not a slob.
