Greetings Magic Misfits fandom, I'm the fool who NEVER looked on Tumblr / Ao3 for Magic Misfits content despite loving the series for LITERAL YEARS.
But now I'm here, and I come bearing my Magic Misfits + Mysterious Benedict Society AU that's been living rent-free in my brain as a humble offering!
Pretty basic roleswap, the Misfits take the place of the Society, Mr. Vernon takes the place of Mr. Benedict, Kalagan takes the place of Mr. Curtain, etc.
The Whisperer is allowing Kalagan's mesmerization (is that the right way to say it?) to be more widespread, instead of using creepy subliminal messaging it just repeats things like "I know what you did", "you can't hide from your own past", and ofc "what have you done?"
SORRY I LOVE THE GOLDEN TWINS SO I HAVE TO YAP ABOUT THEM FOR A SECOND, they're much better at solving Mr. Vernon's coded riddles + making sense of the Institute's weirdness, because they were literally so perceptive in the fourth suit and yet they were STILL underused
I still need to figure out what to do with the rest of the Emerald Ring / their backstory in the AU, suggestions are very much welcome
OKAY YOU HAVE TO HEAR ME OUT ON THIS ONE, but the pilot ending music from Only Murders in the Building is what I hear whenever I think about this AU

Slightly unrelated but I think Leila and Kate Wetherall would get along so well, as well as absolutely terrifying the rest of the Misfits / Society with their antics
I might try to develop this into a proper fic later, if I can ever get through my mess of BG3 / Minmaxed WIPS ;-;
