No wonder Kai and Nya were so willing to adopt Lloyd as their little brother when all three of them have slight anger issues.

We've seen Jay, Zane and Cole angry, but never in a "I'mma fucking kill someone" kind of way like we have with the RGB siblings.

One of my favorite things to think about is Skylor hanging out with the ninja in their down time.

No crisis. No missions. The noodle shop closed for the day.

Skylor just coming over to hang out because she can. Zane cooks her dinner and she plays video games with Cole and Kai and she makes bracelets with Lloyd and she yaps with Nya and Jay as they invent and oughhhhh :((((

Kai asking her to stay the night because it’s gotten late and the monastery is far from her apartment and he wants her to be safe. :(( Her falling asleep on the couch next to him as they sit together and the entire team all piling into the family room and sleeping on/around the couches together :(

Skylor healing her trauma and what she’s been through and feeling less lonely when she’s with them :(

what stays and what fades away

Here I am yet again with season finale aftermath fic, because it’s my favorite thing to write about and we, um….could’ve used some more of it, after that one.

Anyways full disclosure this is straight-up angst that takes a hard left turn into sap somewhere along the way, and I’m posting with less edits than I want but it is laTE so! Here is my take on some Zangst ™️

His hands will not stop shaking.

It’s an odd thing, a subtle, rattling kind of tremor that starts in his fingers and spreads up his arms, until he’s forced to cross his arms tightly for fear of it spreading further. It lives there, trembling in his hands the entire trek back across the snowy wilderness, through every one of his family’s stories, and only worsens as they reach the village.

Zane doesn’t understand it. He’s not supposed to shake like this.

But he doesn’t understand how the villagers can look on him in kindness, either, so his vision might simply still be frosted over.

Coming out:

They'll never make me hate Misako

There are worse parents (Cliff Gordon and Libber who left Jay at a doorstep?? Dr. Julien with the whole situation with Echo who was then left behind in the light house??) that don't get nearly as much acknowledgement as Misako, from what I saw at least

Misako left Lloyd at the boarding school for a reason that later will benefit Lloyd and others and later seasons (2nd season, 5th season and possibly more that I don't remember) and people still call her research useless, researches she possibly endangered her life for

Not calling her the best mother ever, but she isn't the worst mother either

And I have a feeling that people reduce her just to "a bad mother"

Agree and disagree. I do think leaving her child at a boarding school KNOWN for corrupting kids was bad regardless if that was supposed to help "slow down the propechy" or not. But, I do agree that there are way worse parents in Ninjago that aren't held as accountable as they should be. I think Misako is just another one of the many victims of bad writing in general, cause if her characterization was actually good since the beggining and not reduced to just an info-dumper that flirts with her ex husband's brother infront of her kid at the worst times possible, she could've been a way better character to represent how even parents can be flawed and so they shouldn't be glorified. I especially would've liked it if we got to see actual development of her relationship with Lloyd while he's learning to forgive her (like they did to Nya and Maya, still pissed that Ray was barely included and also that we didn't get to see the same being done for Kai even tho he tried to KILL HIS DAD)
