❝ I’m tiiiired. My knee hurts. My elbow hurts and I have to go the bathroom. ❞
Casey’s on the phone with his manager when Theo finally walks through the door. The smaller boy instantly complaining about his day. He was probably just looking for a little love or at the very least sympathy— But Casey is far too wrapped up in his conversation to reply. Instead, he points towards the bathroom so that he can finish his call. By the time Theo comes back out, he’s in a worse mood than usual. It’s great being an actor whose so highly in demand but the contract he signed with Netflix means having to make four films in the next year. That means no break, no projects he actually cares about, and worst of all? His opinion on the movies didn’t matter. Even if they were shitty, he just had to grin and bear it for the next year of shooting and another year for when they all came out.
As bad as his mood is, Theo is still his boyfriend. His secret boyfriend, sure, but his boyfriend nonetheless. “Had a call. What did you say happened?” He questioned, eyebrow raised as he sat at the kitchen counter. This was the part where he’s supposed to hang up the phone because his boyfriend is more important than some stupid work call. This is the part where he’s supposed to wrap Theo in a hug and kiss his head and say that he needs to take it easy. This is the part where he’s supposed to show his boyfriend how much he loves him— But it’s just one of those days. One of those days where even holding his hand feels weird and saying anything deeper than “That sucks.” doesn’t come out right.
That doesn’t mean he isn’t trying though. Because as hard as it is to be a good boyfriend, at least he isn’t pushing him away again. And when Theo hugs him first, he hesitates— But after a few seconds his arms wrap around the smaller boy. In little moments like these, it’s easy to remember why he loves him. In little moments like these, where he plants a kiss to the top of his head— It’s easy to forgive himself. Just for a moment. “Sorry.”
