Belated World Oceans Day with @theoceancleanup 🌊. It seems like everything—at least for me—stems from the Golden Gate Bridge. My career...documenting this bridge...witnessing the 75th anniversary show...flying by helicopter over the incredible low fog...seeing thousands march across the bridge in protest of police brutality and systemic racism on June 6, 2020. Last year, I was fortunate enough to work with an amazing aerial team to film the aerial livestream of the launch of @TheOceanCleanup’s first plastic cleanup system, which was towed from right under the Golden Gate Bridge out to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Now, I am beyond excited to join @TheOceanCleanup as an ambassador. It's a project I have followed since their first TED Talk, and I support their mission 100% so want to help share and support it through my platform and work. With a full fleet of cleanup systems in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, they aim to clean up 50% of its plastic every five years. And to stop plastic before it reaches the ocean, The Ocean Cleanup has also developed the first scalable solution to efficiently intercept plastic in rivers.
