the first picture, is emily dickinson. well, one of the few. notice her stare, and her neck-accessory-that-i-have-no-idea-what-to-call
the second, everyone, is sue gilbert in austin's locket.
he takes it out to look at because he misses her. (and for other things but we won't go into that <3)
again, notice her stare, neck thingy and slight middle part swirling into a bun. They both are wearing dark gowns, both have neck thingy.
this probably is irrelevant but!! it's nice to know that they made sue look like her what a thoughtful way to rack my brain for more gay theorizing.
