Oh yeah, that outlook, man. I bet Sam could teach so much to Steve about using his superhero skills as part of his own recovery. Maybe doing his own vigilante work, rather than it necessarily being tied to someone else’s agenda.

I could still see it as being a great BroTP, especially with talking about how Steve really needs a friend in his life… Though as I’m typing this, some other part of my brain reminded me of other stuff I’ve read. Said stuff talking about how basically the best romantic relationships have friendship at their core. Though I don’t think either would really make a move, for their own reasons. Steve showing signs of flirting in CA:TWS has been brought up before, Steve is a huge dork at his core, so I’m not sure he’d follow through. He’s driven as hell when he wants something to happen, but still has a way of dorking it up with his personal relationships. I could see Sam breaking the awkwardness, but not wanting to push Steve into anything?

Or if they did end up being just a BroTP, they could probably get away with Scrubs’ ‘Guy Love’, as shown between J.D. and Turk. Like, really easily, between all of the aforementioned points. It’s also a convenient grey area between BroTP and OTP. B)

Also because you asked - I was considering shipping Sam/Steve more than Stucky, because if it’s true that Steve needs a friend way more than someone in his pants, that’s probably 100x more true for James with his sheer amount of trauma he’s experienced. That’s not to say they couldn’t have something platonic, but I wanted to clarify, with all of the Stucky porn out there. I could see a platonic Sam/Bucky for the same reason I could get by on a more platonic Stucky.

I think we all need a bright ray of sunshine like Sam. More Sam pls. AlsomoreBuckypls. IknowthisisaboutSam,butit’sbeenoverayearnow.

Oh yeah, I totally agree with how the best romantic relationships have friendship at their core. Personally, I think Steve, when he knows what he wants and is at a comfortable enough place to do it, he’s not shy about it. Sam probably wouldn’t ‘try’ anything with him until he gives that ‘im ready to try something more’ signal and I think that’s another thing about them is that Steve sucks pretty bad at lying and Sam can pick that up pretty easily and I have doubt that when the two get to know each other better, Steve can read Sam like a book too. So there’s that going for them, too. I think one of them would just grab the other and full on kiss him on the mouth one day and then they’d just stare at each other for a long moment and both kinda stutter about what just happened. lol (I can’t decide who’d make that first move tbh but it wouldn’t be a subtle one)

I can see it. I don’t think either of them has a problem with them being in that area between a brotp and an otp. lol. Just all the sam and steve things. give them to me. 

See. before I got a bucky blog too, that was my thought but it was sambucky outruling post-tws stucky. but I hear what you’re putting down and I agree. even tho my headcanon is that bucky would be hella touch starved bc let’s face it, no one in 70 years cared to touch him in any kind of affectionate way and he finds anything like that addicting (but yeah, probably not full on sex right off the bat with anyone and I mean.. Sam’s probably more patient than Steve on that end *coughs*) There needs to be more samsteve imo. but also more ot3 fanart and things too pls.

I didn't see anyone send ship suggestions. Kinda boring with my Sam ships though, but like… Steve. Sam and Steve. I could see it so much. It started out as a 'maybe' for me, then I was like 'you know, maybe I could set Stucky aside. This seems so much more likely, Sam's got to be the healthiest of the three by far.'

Honestly, I personally think Sam and Steve have a little TOO much in common. Not saying they won’t work if they were to be in a romantic/sexual relationship but I kinda brotp them more, tbh. That and Steve needs a friend (and a friendly lil angel figure on his shoulder) who’s not there to try to get into his pants since basically everyone else kinda is. (I mean, look at him) I still ship them but not as much as… 

I still ship Stucky to hell and back. There’s no setting that aside.

More than SamSteve, I ship the heck out of SamBucky. Sam and Bucky has more differences in their chemistry and it’s good for a lost and confused Bucky to have Sam to rely on without the pressure that Steve might (unconsciously) put on Bucky when the Bucky Steve knows from the 40s was about 3 years ago for Steve when Bucky can’t remember who that was? Sam is a new start for a recovering Bucky. 

I think a lot of Sam being mentally healthy comes from his healthier outlook on life in general. He lost his wingman and best friend in the war, right in front of his eyes too, and he’s not getting him back but he’s channeling that towards helping others instead of letting it drag him down.

But you know what? OT3. Make it happen. Both Steve and Bucky needs a bright ray of sunshine like Sam eheh.

Get a vacuum cleaner. That’s the easiest way to suck up fruit flies and get rid of them. Leaving beer out helps them accumulate.

Wellll, there's this E4 show, My Mad Fat Diary, and there is this character named Chloe. I guess she'd be considered a bitch sometimes, but I found her rather realistic since she's the type of friend most of us has. At least I had a Chloe, but she was way worse.
