something that makes bruce’s failures as a parent more devastating is when you realise bruce does not know what it means to be a parent because he lost his so young.

bruce knows how to be a mentor. he knows how to train someone the way he was trained. he doesnt know what it means to care for a child beyond providing for them and teaching them because he never had that. he has no reference for what it is he is missing

also thinking about how every child bruce took in was older than the age he was when he still had parents
