The sun has set, the moon and stars had taken their place up above in the sky. Tommy’s eyelids grew heavier and heavier by the minute. He'd be in bed right now, lying on his back mumbling about whatever dream he was currently having. Evan was the one who told him he mumbled in his sleep. Years ago his mother did the same thing.
Instead of being in his bed, Tommy was lying on the couch with little Theo sleeping on his chest snoring just like how Evan does in his sleep. It wasn’t like Tommy didn't try to put his son in his crib, but he made a fuss about it only wanting to be with his Papa until his Dad came home from a shift. He was growing up quicker than Tommy could imagine. Evan at almost one years old the kid had quite the personality already. And Tommy couldn’t wait to see how that personality grew.
Tommy dragged the blanket off the back of the sofa covering up both himself and Theo, cuddling with him underneath the thick soft blanket. Gently, Tommy kissed the top of Theo's curls.
"You know," Tommy whispered, knowing his son was fast asleep, "I never thought I would have the chance at having a kid. A family really. Didn't think it was in the cards for me. That and I didn't think I would be that good of a father. Didn't really have a good one to look up to. I was terrified when you were fiest born. Scared that I would screw up in every way imaginable. I'm still scared out of my mind ... but you make it worth it. I would rather be petrified for the rest of my life and have you in it than not." Tommy sighed, ignoring the sting in his eyes. "I hope I'm doing okay. You would tell me if I'm not, right?"
Theo quietly snored, his cheeks squishing against Tommy’s chest. Drool starts to seep into Tommy’s shirt. He is definitely Evan’s kid. In no time the kid is going to rambling on about what ever new thing he learned in what ever animal or science book he will certainly get.
"You’re an amazing father, Tommy," Evan leaned against the archway into the living room, smiling warmly at them.
"Since when did you get home?" Tommy lightly chuckled.
"Ah, enough to see you two all cuddled up on the couch," Evan came over, kissing Tommy on the forehead then Theo. "Let’s get you both to bed. It's getting late. Hopefully Theo won't wake up too early and we could sleep in for a bit."
"Oh no, he is going to wake up early like he always does," Tommy smiled.
"Just like his Papa," Evan ran his fingers through Tommy’s hair. "But I mean it Tommy, you are an amazing father."
Tommy smiled, his cheeks grew warm and he kissed the top of Theo's head. All Tommy could do was the best for his kid, right?
Today, Buck and Tommy took baby Theo to the park. Buck got a baby’s first bug discovery set and is trying it out with Theo, while Tommy sets out snacks and watches his beautiful bug boys and taking lots of pics 🙂↕️
My friends and I have reached the point of our immersive fanfic where Buck and Tommy are married and have a baby!
And in order for the little baby to grow, they have to babysit. The baby will remind them every 10 minutes to pay attention to him during their babysitting time and neglecting him causes him to de-age. (He's currently 4 months old!)
Anyways I worked very hard on this so here are some of the headcanons about Buck and Tommy as parents that made it into the Theoverse lore (so far lol)
- Buck reads to the baby a lot. They listen to podcasts together all the time.
- Tommy loves to cuddle with the baby and talk to him while he babbles away.
- There is a solid routine so the baby has a healthy sleep and eating schedule.
- They both spoil the baby. He has more toys than they can count.
- They're very attentive!
- Buck is the most fun when it comes to bathtime, so that's his personal time with the baby. Tommy brings a warm towel and gets the baby in fresh clothes afterward.
- Tommy's personal time with the baby is a late night feeding and a little chatting until he goes back to bed.
Baby Theo loves his Papa Tommy soooo much and loves to cuddle with him, especially when papa is sad or has had a rough shift 🥺 Dada Buck looks at them with teary eyes and has an album on his phone dedicated to theo and papa cuddling
Today, Theo and Buck prepared a relaxing day for Tommy before he has to go back to work. They made his favorite snacks, got him his favorite face masks, set out his favorites movies to watch together and made the living room extra cozy for optimal cuddles 🥰
