Flashback to 2003. My homie D-Bone took me down from Olympia to Portland to catch the Electric Circus Tour. We stepped out front to smoke a bleezy and sure as shit Guru was just stepping off the bus and walks over to where we were. I was 20 at the time and fighting to keep my cool, but introduced myself and shook his hand. He kicked with us for a few, bullshitted (said loosely), and then popped in the venue to get ready for the show. What a memorable moment and honor to have met while we were still blessed with his presence. Guru never conformed, he fought for rights in the music industry still needed today. He is as legendary as it gets and Gang Starr will forever live on.
