Time. It is such a curious thing, being at both looming and imposing, and warm and comforting and adorable. It can cause wounds to fester, or cause them to at least scar over, if not heal. It can quiet confusion to the point where it does not act as the spark for a powder keg, and it can drive people to desperation in order to accomplish goals within its auspices.
Even for - or, perhaps, especially for - a race as long-lived as the draenei, time had a habit of sneaking up on them.
With Rakeesh it had been easy to give Velen distance and respect his wishes to not discuss the matter. He could not and would not regret his actions - the death of one was, obviously, favorable to the death of all - but his hand in the act still chilled him to his core, once the truth was laid bare. If he was honest with himself, it drove his hatred of Kil'jaeden further, even, knowing that he had orchestrated something so sinister and that had led to such a profound blow to the Prophet.
But this? His curiosity could not be sated with time. It allowed him to find clarity and calm, but the fire still burned, and it needed to be quenched with discussion and finding sense in what seemed senseless. Jezriyah's hand had been invaluable from dragging him out of the whorl of chaos and emotion, to find himself seated on the shoreline, making ready to dive into the water of his own volition, swimming out towards the truth.
Setting his pen down, he looked at the letter that he intended to leave in Velen's hall. He was still unsure of his standing with the Prophet, after everything that had happened lately, and any time he was not working with the Unseen Path or spent with Chromie had been thrown full-force into the Vindicaar project. It was a way, if he was honest, of running away from his concerns.
But as Velen had said lately, the draenei had been running long enough.
If it is agreeable to you, and you have the time to spare, I would like to speak regarding the events that occurred at the Tomb of Sargeras. My emotions have stilled enough that I believe I can discuss what happened without the initial burst of confusion I labored under at the time.
Please leave your reply at my room on the Exodar - with the Vindicaar project in full swing, I feel I will be spending more time here than I have been lately, and I apologize for allowing myself to be so distracted with other tasks.
Yours in the Light,
Rilgon"
