before she even entered the mansion, she realized her nose was in for a regrettable night. the place reeked of vampires and demons and she could sense the children of the moon lingering about as well. something else lingered about and it wasn’t something she had ever ran into before, so she had no idea what all she was up against. her nose was already burning from the stench vampires, indicating that it was often filled with them.
it didn’t come as much of a surprise, the scent lingered on the invitation. plus, it was just like a vampire that had lived for centuries to live lavishly, she knew that from experience. this, though, it really put the cullen’s houses and possessions to shame. a whole new level of being over the top that really made leah squirm in her quickly put together costume of a character in game she had spent too many regrettable hours watching all of the boys play.
quick into the night, she had lost count of her trips to the buffet. she supposed the vampire holding the event should be happy that her packmates weren’t here, otherwise his staff would be out of food before they could blink. piling up her plate of food, she couldn’t get enough of the bacon wrapped jalapeños. popping one into her mouth as she rounded the edge of the last of the buffet tables, her eyes fell on someone dressed as batman. and while she could admit that he was the best superhero of all time, dc or marvel, she wouldn’t pass up the opportunity for a snarky comment.
