Año 1978; la casa de los Hewitt en Texas, el condado de Travis, funciona como un nuevo tipo de matadero humano. ¿Qué pasará? ¿Saldrán vivos? ¿O morirán todos en el intento? 

¿Dónde estoy? ¿Qué hice? ¿Por qué yo? Son algunas de las preguntas que quizá tu cabeza y boca dejan escapar al aire, sin encontrar respuesta alguna por parte de los culpables. Una casa en ruinas te recibe con las puertas abiertas; el problema es que no quieres estar aquí. Paredes llenas de humedad, y el ruido de un silbido que proviene de lo que podrías pensar; es la cocina. Una mujer de edad mayor, sale de la misma con una sonrisa que deja ver sus amarillentos dientes, parece no estar muy feliz con la idea de que la sangre del golpe de tu nariz le mache la alfombra. Por fin un hombre vestido de oficial aparece, sientes calma, felicidad…Ibas a escapar, al fin, preciada libertad, preciada ganas de vivir, y comenzar a dejar escapar tus dudas, ¿En qué momento llegué aquí? ¿Cómo? ¿Cuándo? ¿Por qué? Tu felicidad se escapa de la misma forma que se caen las hojas de un árbol en otoño. El hombre que tus ojos están viendo es a quien le vas a rogar por tu vida en un futuro no muy lejano. El olor a sangre inunda tus fosas nasales, ¿Qué mierda está pasando en éste lugar? Bueno, la familia Hewitt se ha prometido jamás volver a sufrir hambre; jamás.
