For a very brief moment (that I was sadly unable to capture) Youtube glitched and these two videos had their thumbnails swapped. Here is my recreation below:
therealjims
i watch a ton of youtube and therealjims is the best account at analysing and reviewing the simpsons.
he's nuanced. he breaks down what does and doesn't work in an episode, even the revered classics. he's also willing to praise newer seasons. if it wasn't for him, i wouldn't have watched treehouse of horror XXXI and XXXIII and they're both really good. some of the best simpsons in years. i love his simpsons histories, tracking characters like edna krabappel or maude flanders and what they've added to the show. his season restrospectives are fascinating. he points out odd patterns (like season 8 loves to host parties) and how they reflect american culture at the time.
we don't always agree. he thinks season 5 is one of the weakest 90's seasons, for me it's a top 3. he's also critical of the mike scully years (seasons 9-12) but i have a soft spot for them. i'd take them over some of the more tepid 2010's seasons.
some of you would know him already, but for those who don't, i highly recommend you check him out.
this is honestly the best analysis of a simpsons character ever
