Are there any conspiracy theories you buy into?

I wouldn’t say conspiracy theories in the sense of crazy Illuminati type shit… although my barber is obsessed with Illuminati documentaries and constantly tries to sell me on the concept of the Illuminati running the world from the shadows, and how Jay Z, Beyonce and many other random celebrities are at the head of this sinister plot, lol. 😂

It’s more like I always look for the logic behind things and aI analyse a lot, so I tend to “see” patterns etc and deduct things before they become proven public information…

For instance, I was/am a huge Bernie supporter and I realised early on that the Democratic Party was bending over backward to make Hillary Clinton the Democratic candidate for US President, early in the race.

Now we know for a fact that this is true.

6 months ago when I was posting about what seemed obvious to me re: Bernie & Hillary, many people labelled it a “conspiracy theory”.

Now we have the DNC emails and Hillary emails that prove it’s true.

Throughout my life his has happened again and again. Sooo… I don’t see myself as a conspiracy theorist per se. I just am confident in my Gift for Discernment. 😊

Hmmm… Best Score for Season 2 of Luke Cage? Or… Best Original Song for the soundtrack to Static Shock if they ever make that a TV show…. Maybe best Original Theme Song for the Miles Morales Spiderman series lol. That was would be awesome.

My acceptance speech would be short, thanking God, my Mom, my kids… and everyone good and bad who contributed to making me the person I am today…

I’d also throw in something about Black Lives Matter at the end, mention how crucial Diversity is in TV/Films and also point out that countries which aren’t America aren’t barbaric… Because consciousness is important. 😉

When was the last time you laughed so hard that your cheeks hurt? When was the last time you ate so much that your belly hurt? Do you think too much of a good thing is really a bad thing? When/when not?

Last time I laughed that much was probably a few months back when I re-watched Katt Williams’ stand up special “It’s Pimpin’ Pimpin’” on Netflix. Katt is by far one of my fave all time favourite stand up comics, right after Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor and Dave Chapelle. Too many laughs, no matter how many times I rewatch his stand up shows lol.

Last time I ate so much that my belly hurt was when I went with my mom and my son to Texas De Brazil for my birthday. That has become an unofficial tradition between the three of us for our birthdays now. That time I went on hard on all those meats and whatnot and overdid it lol. I didn’t go as crazy for my son’s birthday which was more recently lol. Managed to stop eating before it felt uncomfortable but I was still full as hell 😊

Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing if it’s a vice… Alcohol, gambling… things that harm you if done to excess. Too much chocolate or pizza might get you fat but it’d take literally years of that to pose a legit threat to your health. You can die of alcohol poisoning or lose your home to a bad bet in one night though. Food for thought 🤓

44. what is your biggest fear? 

That’s a tough one. I could use the generic stuff, like spiders and snakes or the deep “dying alone” kind of stuff.  Which are all kind of true, but I’m don’t think any of those is my “biggest” fear.

To be honest, I’m not even sure what it would be. All my fears seem fairly equal in my mind.

So, I guess instead of my biggest fear, I’ll give one of my weirdest fears:

crickets

Yep. those small, jumpy, black insects. This dates back at least 20 years ago. I remember it well. There was a summer that North Texas suffered from a massive plague of the creatures everywhere! They were completely inescapable. Walls of buildings would look black, but they were just covered in crickets. And they flew! Surrounding the lights at night. I had a job at the time where I had to work outside a lot. And when we closed at night, I’d have to go out and sweep up trash in the parking lot. Which is nearly impossible to do, when the pavement is covered in crickets.

Being surrounded by that every day really digs into the mind, Making it a fairly deep rooted psychological fear I have. I’m not as bad as I used to be, but I still hate them.

What do you love about Tumblr? Anything you hate/don't like? Are you deliberate about how/why you blog or do you just post whatever you feel like?

I really like the sense of community tbat you can find here if you choose to actively look, and that (IMHO) there seem to be some ppl here who just use it as a place to be themselves online in a less view/follow/like-motivated way than, say Instagram or Twitter or FB.

For me personally, I use Tumblr as my one place online where I can be myself uncensored if and when I choose without as much backlash that may affect my career or my personal life, family etc.

Very few of my followers here are even Trini or West Indian based. Lots don’t have a clue of my relevance in the West Indian diaspora etc.

Also i’ve made some powerful connections on here and discovered ppl that I genuinely appreciate, so that’s a positive too.

I’m still deliberate about what I post because i’m a private person by nature and I do know that ppl who are interested in my musician/work/“celeb” side may stumble upon this Tumblr space, so that def factors in…

But at the same time I tend to just be like fuck it and post whatever I feel in the moment here.

I think of Tumblr as the digital space where, if I passed away tomorrow, a true sense of me as a person and a personality is encapsulated.

Like if you go on my Twitter, FB, IG it’s mostly “Ok he’s that musician guy… And this content is based on his music career and things thereof, he’s promoting songs etc”.

Whereas you could go through my archive here and actually walk away with a decent sense of who I am as a person. What I like and don’t like. Some of my political/ social views. Stuff that I exclude from my other social media cause I don’t want to take attention away from my work and the legacy i’m trying to build.
