⚔ for the emoji ask meme?
I had this in my inbox for far too long im sorry!!! @theriverwashesaway
apprentice dance party ask meme
⚔- what song do they want to blast when going into battle?
for Eurydice I WAS GOING TO PICK SOMETHING SERIOUS BUT MY SIBLING @arcana-callipso SAID THAT IT SHOULD BE “OLD TOWN ROAD” BECAUSE SHES A HORSE GIRL AND I DIDNT EXPECT HER TO COME FOR MY APPRENTICE’S LIFE LIKE THAT but also Lollia’s cover of “Look What You Made Me Do” is the only version of that song I like
for Mila it’d be “What the Water Gave Me” by Florence + The Machine or “PAPERMOON” as covered by AmaLee, those both slap
10, 26, and 45? -F.D.
Ah thank you!! @theriverwashesaway
45 Apprentice Q’s!
10. Does your character feel more comfortable with more clothing, or with less clothing?
Eurydice usually feels comfortable with more clothing. She does love to show off her freckles, though, so if she can go sleeveless she will.
Mila usually feels more comfortable with less clothing– or at least less layers! The more complicated it is to put on and take off, the heavier it is, the less comfortable she feels. And if she can’t move in it conveniently it better be soft or it’s not even worth it.
26. How does your character behave around children?
Eurydice is a listener. She’s to not talk down to children. She especially likes listening to a child talk about something they’re passionate about, even if she knows more than the child. She also prides herself on being able to– if not completely follow– run with a child’s quick train of thought and short attention span. We’re putting your toys down for a nap now? Okay! Oh, hide and seek now? Sure! She’ll follow where the child leads; kids are born explorers, and they get so, so excited when you encourage that.
Mila is a great playmate. She’s ready to run wherever this kid wants to, to play in the mud, to be a step behind them ready to catch them if they fall as they’re climbing a tree. If the child is already chaotic, she’s an enabler, so expect mischief. She’ll keep them safe, don’t worry! But don’t be surprised if they’ve committed a cookie heist! Don’t expect her to keep the kid out of the forest if they want to explore! She’s right behind them, full speed ahead!
45. What does your character believe will happen to them after they die? Does this belief scare them?
Eurydice doesn’t believe anything happens, really. If something happened to her soul when she died of the plague, she can’t remember it. Until she sees otherwise, as far as she’s concerned, she’s just. Gone. It doesn’t particularly scare her; she fears leaving people behind when they need her, and she bemoans the fact that she won’t be able to see the people that will come after her and the world they’ll make, but she’s not afraid.
Mila isn’t sure where she’ll end up, but she’s sure of this: she’ll be able to make her own peace. Meeting Khamgalai in the Hermit’s realm solidified that for her. She knows of ghosts, hurt and afraid and angry, unfinished business and incomplete lives. But even they still have a hope of closure, if some living soul tries to help. She’s anxious that, if it happens suddenly, she’ll be trapped in a cycle of pain, but she knows that she can have closure. She can have peace. So she’ll try her best, that’s all she can do.
Star! Does it get lonely in the lighthouse?
It does, sometimes, but visiting my sea buddies always cheers me up! I know I’m a little tough to get to, so I don’t take it personally. And I always keep a kettle on in case anyone stops by (and, you know, they don’t have a realm to save). ~ the Star 😻
Pitch for the "what would your oc do?" -Finch
HI AGAIN FINCH!! Thanks for the ask! @theriverwashesaway
(also asked by @another-blue-blog just now, i’ll get to your other Q in a moment!!)
What Would Your OC Do?
pitch - What woukd your OC do if they were being interrogated for valuable information? *bonus* What would they do if this interrogation turned down a darker road e.g torture?
Eurydice is going to be questioning right back. She’s only going to give as much information as she gets and can trust. If she can negotiate, she will, but the shadier the interrogation is, the snippier she’s going to get. She has no patience for bullshit, not anymore. If it escalates to torture? What they’re going to get out of her is all the swear words she knows, and that’s about it. She’s always been stubborn and she’s not ashamed to be a bitch about it if the other person deserves it.
Mila‘s first instinct is to dodge. Play dumb, act like she doesn’t know even if she does. If they don’t believe her? She bITES if she feels threatened. She’s not as fast with her comebacks as Eurydice, but as long as she has teeth, she’s going to make it known that she does not want to be here. Struggle, run if she can, and bite back. I can’t say she’d never be beaten into submission, but she’s not going down without a fight, especially if her loved ones are at stake.
For the flower ask, Juniper and Sage, for both apprentices? -Finch Dræmila
AH HI FINCH! @theriverwashesaway
Learn Some Stuff About My Apprentices
Juniper: Are they a homebody or craving adventure?
Eurydice: Answered for her already here, but the short answer is yes she craves adventure and she’s not afraid to get lost in the woods by herself! She fancies herself an amateur archeologist, adventure is in her blood.
Mila: She considers herself a homebody, but has a more loose definition of home, if that makes sense? A dive off the coast, a hike through the forest, a trip to visit her or Muriel’s homelands, those are just extensions of her home. If there’s someone there she loves, she’s home, and that’s all she needs. Growing up, even though she stuck around in Vesuvia with her aunt, she spent most of her time outdoors, either fishing as a seal or running around the streets causing trouble with Asra and Muriel. The outdoors is her home, it feels more like home for her to have wind in her hair.
Sage: Do they believe in spirits?
I’ve answered that one already too, but that was considering Arcana canon. However, modern au is different; without direct interaction with ghosts, Arcana, and talking familiars, they’d end up in less of a neutral position.
Mila definitely still believes in spirits, fae, ghosts, lots of things, even if she’s not a selkie in a modern au. I like to think she would be but I think she’d hold this belief regardless. There’s just too much that’s unexplained– or unsolved, if you will.
Eurydice? She'll believe some cryptid stuff, but other than that she’s skeptical. You might even get her to buy the idea of werewolves with enough evidence. But no, in a modern au, she wouldn’t believe in ghosts or spirits of any sort. She’ll be respectful when it comes to interacting with people’s religious beliefs– especially around burial sites– but if it’s just some ghoul that Mila thinks is talking through the radio she’s gonna laugh.
