Thanks so much for the excitement! Cx I’ve been torturing @silencedmoment talking to her about it all day, asking questions that pique her curiosity... I’m just as happy as you guys that my block finally lifted! To be honest, I think I just needed a while to get past it, so there’s no guarantee asking earlier would have done anything. I did look at it several times but each time I just couldn’t write more! But now... /scribbles

The entire country of the Netherlands should be illegal honestly..! I met Vienna Teng when she played at an outdoor event near where I was living at the time & she signed my CD. Then the next day my mum & I were at the airport and so was she, and she was walking towards us (looking somewhere else) and my mum (who had been at the concert the day before) went “wait, isn’t that..?!” but she somehow threw what was in her hand and it landed on the carpet in front of Ms Teng and Ms Teng bent and picked it up and handed it back almost absently and my mum thanked her & after a "no problem” (or something) Ms Teng walked off & my mum & I didn’t say anything after that because we were (silently) laughing too hard at my mum’s clumsiness 😂 But it definitely raised my opinion of Vienna Teng even higher! The kind of person who hands a random lady’s (whatever she was holding) back to her at an airport...!

if you read a lot theres a good chance youve gotten to it already but i loved aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe. it felt very real to me and had great family dynamics and friendship

Good luck with the language, I admire anyone who’s willing to learn non-major languages. Hope your relocation goes smoothly! Just let me know if there is anything. :-)
Thank you! I’m of the opinion that if you’re living in a foreign country (and, well, relocating voluntarily, of course), you should at least try to learn the local language. It’s a sign of respect, and a show of gratitude for being given the opportunity to stay there. Like, you might not be any good at it, but trying’s the important bit.
...as for the relocation, I had to get to my local airport an hour and a half early due to a traffic protest thing scheduled RIGHT when I needed to leave, that would’ve blocked all the local roads; the metro line I wanted to take in Prague was temporarily closed down, so I had to figure out a detour on the fly; and my bus to Brno (where I’ll be working) took 1.5h longer than it was supposed to because of traffic. I’ve been awake since 4:30am (15.5h), I just had dinner after 10h of not eating, and I’m so very, very tired.
I’m looking forward to sleeping like you wouldn’t believe. But hopefully, from here on out, everything will be sunshine and roses. *fingers crossed*

The company that’s hiring me has been extremely helpful and accommodating so far, but it’s always nice to have other people to poke as well. Fair warning, though, I may whine to you about the language, because wow, Czech is daunting. But if I’m gonna live there, then I’m damn well gonna work on learning.

Sometimes discussions of this kind look as if indifference was somehow morally superior to caring. I don’t think it’s intentional, but it certainly doesn’t feel very friendly.
