The Roomate

Alex nervously climbed up the stairs and peered at the brassy door numbers until he found 3C tucked towards the end of the building and on the other side. The backpack that he slung over his shoulder seemed heavier somehow and he was afraid that suitcase handle would suddenly break from the pressure of his grip. He sighed and looked calmly at the door. This was it. This was the pre-furnished room that someone was apparently looking for someone to split the cost with, as told to him by Akemi while they were browsing through possible listings.

He gulped the nervousness down as he knocked on the door and waited for the owner, now roomate, to open it. ( He had a good feeling about this one. )
