wonderful time; ryan&winnie

Winnie enjoyed listening to Christmas music all year-round.

Winnie also enjoyed making people believe things that weren’t necessarily true, which was precisely why she invited Ryan over to her house to stage photos of the two, positioning them as the “perfect couple.” There was no harm in it, really; at least, according to Winnie. She surveyed the living room to make sure everything was in its place, ready for Ryan’s arrival: carpet vacuumed; fireplace crackling; Christmas playlist playing. Yes, everything looked perfect.

She was sure it wouldn’t take more than an hour or two, at most. She just had to get a few nice shots, fit for all her social media platforms, and for all to see.  The doorbell rang just then, and Winnie excitedly ran to answer it.

♡: Accidentally falling asleep together 

Winnie fell onto her bed on her back, giggling uncontrollably. “Ryan, this was like, the best night I’ve had in a long time. Thank you.” She closed her eyes for a few moments, then opened them again. “You can sit with me, you know.” With a kind smile, she patted the spot next to her on the bed, and returning her smile, he made himself comfortable.  Winnie stared up looking at the stars through the skylight.

“Whoa! There’s a window on your ceiling.”

Winnie giggled again. “Yeah, it’s always been there.” The two lay there in silence for a while, eyelids becoming heavy, until they both fell to sleep.

Winnie awoke with a start and looked at her clock. Two-thirty AM. The lights were out -- who turned them off? She looked to her left to see Ryan asleep, and gasped. “Ryan!” she yelled in a whisper. “Get up. You have to get out of here. If someone comes in here, they’re going to think something happened. Which it didn’t.”

Ryan responded with a snore. Winnie sighed. “Okay, I didn’t want to have to do this, but...” As gently as she could, she pushed him over the edge of the bed -- that woke him up. “I’m sorry,” she apologized, “but you fell asleep next to me, and well -- you gotta go!”
