reasons why academic research that is properly published is important

1. they allow for exploration into interesting topics that are not being utilised by industry or lucrative

2. they make it easy to build on existing work that people have conducted, moving technological developments and research forwards

3. STUPID FUCKING COMPANIES REDOING THEIR WEBSITES SO VARIOUS REPORTS WITH USEFUL DATA CITED IN AN ACTUAL ACADEMIC PAPER IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE!! LIKE I NEED THOSE DETAILS PLEASE WHY IS IT JUST TELLING ME OOPS PAGE NOT FOUND! THATS NOT AN OOPS THATS YOU CHANGING ACCESS TO USEFUL DOCUMENTATION AND MAYBE JUST MAYBE IF I TRAWL AND USE THE SHITTY SEARCH FUNCTION THAT YOU HAVE I CAN FIND IT OR MAYBE I THINK IVE FOUND IT BUT THE PDF FILE THAT IS LINKED SUDDENLY NO LONGER WORKS OR NO LONGER EXISTS. JUST WHY WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO ME BECAUSE NOW I HAVE TO DECIDE IF I WANT TO BOTHER EMAILING AND ENQUIRING AFTER WHICH VERY RARELY AND TYPICALLY MONTHS LATER GETS A RESPONSE MOST OF THE TIME IS NOT USEFUL.

4. Academic works have a clearly defined labelling system and are available in multiple places

so even tho we're like in middle school we had this end-year project thingy which is like a thesis but lighter and shit, and it's one of those graduating qualifications right. today was our thesis session, and we have like 6 classes (9A-F) with around 39 kids each, and our examiners are divided based on class no. since i'm in 9F, and with end numbers, naturally i'd present the last right? so does that mean i get to come late? nooooo we had to come as early as 6.30 a.m for a fucking briefing, and i had to wait until 2.30 p.m. fOR MY SESSION. LIKE HONESTLY WHY. at least we get to go home as soon as we're done? jOKES ON U I FINISHED JUST AS THE BELL RANG. THOT.
