I wanted to use Sonamy Week as a chance to work on a comic about their "first kiss" in my AU. With a bit more context from the things I had pre-established, Amy's honest and passionate confession made Sonic act on impulse in the heat of the moment. Not only because he wanted to reassure her, but also as a possible "last thing I’ll do… in case I don’t make it back."
But don’t worry! He did come back! :)

In context, Sonic and Amy spent a lot of time traveling together (just the two of them) around the world. Their relationship has progressed to a "situationship" and Sonic doesn't know how to handle his heart and the fear of hurting Amy. But she understands Sonic and respects his time to process his feelings, reaffirming the partnership and trust they share!

I'm finally bringing Sky's redesign! The eldest daughter of Sonic and Amy in my AU ( TheSonicFutureAU ) and one of the protagonists of the upcoming story I plan to tell. So without further delay...
Here are some things about her in my AU:
Sonic never really liked the idea of becoming a father someday. He felt it was a huge step to take - just like the idea of getting married. Although Amy had always dreamed of becoming a mother, she understood his thoughts and never forced or pressured him about it.
But that changed the moment Sonic was put in charge of babysitting Jade Jasper while Rouge and Knuckles returned to their usual routines. Sonic started to enjoy the idea of caring for someone, running, playing, and exploring the world with a mini version of himself. That’s when he decided to be brave and talk to Amy about having a child.
Amy had her own doubts, uncertain if she’d be a good mother and wondering if Sonic might regret the decision. But he always reassured her, telling her that the one thing he wanted most when the baby was born was to travel and explore the entire world with their child, showing all the good the world had to offer.
When they revealed the news to their friends that Amy was expecting a baby, Knuckles, Tails, and Cream were the most excited - finally, they were going to be uncles and an aunt.
During the pregnancy, Amy constantly felt strong jolts and chills through her fur, caused by the power naturally inherited by Skyler: Energy Manipulation.
Even while pregnant, Amy didn’t stop working at Dulce Amy’s. Sonic ended up helping her at the restaurant for a while, worried she might overwork herself.
Sonic and Amy didn’t know the baby’s gender. Skyler’s powers interfered with the medical scans, making it a surprise until the day of birth.
Skyler was born after a massive storm.
Her name was chosen by Sonic, inspired by the color of her fur and the bright blue sky that appeared after the rain.
Skyler was a baby who cried a lot. Because of her abilities, the lights would flicker and sometimes even burn out during her fits.
The only thing that calmed her was when Sonic held her in his arms and sing to her. She would always fall asleep to the song Can You Feel the Sunshine? (Yes, from Sonic R! > That cover < is exactly how I imagine Sonic’s calm singing voice.)
That song became the reason behind her nicknames "Sunshine" and "Shiny" - given lovingly by her parents.
It didn’t take long before Amy had to return to work at her restaurant, leaving Sonic in charge of taking care of the house and Skyler.
While Skyler was still just a baby, a Familiar Figure invaded her room in the middle of the night. After hearing their daughter's desperate cries, Sonic and Amy rushed in to see what was happening. They came face to face with the old known enemy, with Skyler in his arms.
During a fight to recover their daughter, Sonic ends up being teleported along with Skyler, who overloaded the Chaos Emeralds that the Familiar Figure had, due to her uncontrolled powers.
Now, Sonic, with the help of Sage, has the mission to return home with Skyler and prevent the old enemy's revenge plan from being completed, which aims to end all their friends and the world.
And so begins, The End of the World Incident.
The tear in Skyler's left ear happened during this event.
CHILDHOOD:
Even without knowing it, Skyler's Energy abilities drastically decreased after this event, almost like an instinctive block for her protection.
Sonic and Amy became much more protective after this. Amy was the one who made this most noticeable, being extremely protective and wanting to avoid at all costs that Skyler get into dangerous situations (whether they were severe or minor) and often letting herself be carried away by the paranoia of her excessive worry. Sonic, on the other hand, always gave her his trust and appeared to be more calm, constantly encouraging her to explore on her own, even though he was always nearby, staying alert in case he needed to act.
Even with all the care from her parents, Skyler was very clumsy. She would often hurt herself when she was alone.
She cried about almost everything. Being emotional was a very strong trait in her when she was a child.
Despite this, Sonic kept his promise. Whenever possible, he would take Skyler to new places in a matter of seconds, just to spend time with her and show her new things. Skyler was raised with the same morals as her father: the feeling of running against the wind and exploring new places was amazing, and she loved the freedom.
When not working at the restaurant, Amy enjoyed spending time with Skyler. Whether it was picking out cute outfits for them, cooking together, or watching movies. She would invite Cream and Rouge to join in on this time, which also included Jasper.
Jasper and Skyler are considered cousins, raised almost like siblings. Jasper was responsible for Sonic taking care of Skyler when he wasn’t around, and he always did so, whether it was preventing her from getting hurt or offering advice.
TEENAGER:
With the birth of her siblings (Zack and Lilly), Skyler found herself a little left out, which affected her emotionally.
As she was heading into her pre-teen years, she felt she needed to be stronger so that her parents (especially her father) would see her as capable of taking care of herself.
During this time, she became close to Aura, who was now in town with her father and studying at the same school as Skyler.
Aura was being bullied by bullies. Until one day, Skyler let her emotions take over and unlocked the fury of her Energy abilities again to protect her best friend. Causing damage and hurting the bullies as well as herself.
After this incident, her Uncle Tails analyzed her and designed prototypes for Energy Inhibitors. These were meant to ease the discharges that Skyler absorbed and released. Regularly, she would go on tests to assess the power of her abilities.
Sonic and Amy weren’t fully sure about it yet. But at Amy's suggestion, they decided to put Skyler through training to learn how to control her powers at the Resilience HQ Training Academy - Run by Surge and Kitsunami.
Due to having similar abilities, Surge quickly became Skyler's main mentor. Helping her control her abilities and serving as a guide to build more self-confidence (along with a little rebelliousness.)
Sonic often talked to her, and although Skyler was changing, he remained a safe point for her to remember that her main goal in becoming strong was to make him proud.
YOUNG ADULT:
Skyler grew up helping with small tasks within the Resilience HQ.
Her quills darkened over time, something common for Hedgehogs.
Her Energy Inhibitors are in their final stage and upgraded to prevent overloading.
The glasses she wears are digital, functioning as a communication device, heat vision, map guide, and data display.
Despite being hot-headed and stubborn, her sense of justice and determination make her make decisions to protect others, regardless of whether she gets hurt in the process.
Skyler learned to ride Extreme Gear at Aura's request, just so she would have an alternative method of transportation during their outings - Aura uses her roller-skate.
When mentally overwhelmed, Skyler prefers to lie on her Extreme Gear up high, just looking at the sky.
She feels intimidated by Shadow.
Skyler tends to see Eggman as a sort of grandfather, even though he occasionally continues with his crazy plans.
Skyler has always wanted to go on a mission as a Resilience fighter, but at her mother's request, Surge and the Diamond Cutters don’t call her up for any.
And then, one day, she disobeys orders and decides to investigate a call for help from a fire near a vacation camp zone on her own. She is accompanied by Jasper and Aura.
Conclusion...
And the rest is history… I'll tell you more at some point :)
The only son of Knuckles and Rouge in my AU! And the oldest in his team. I'll share some fun facts about this lazy bat!
Some facts about him from my AU:
At first, when Rouge found out about her pregnancy, she acted nervously. She never expected to become a mother someday, and pregnancy between species is risky for both the baby and the mother, which made her anxious on its own. But Rouge was also worried about how Knuckles would react to the news.
With the support of Amy and Cream, she gathered the courage and told him. When she revealed it to Knuckles, she was surprised by his contagious happiness. Knuckles promised Rouge that if she was comfortable with the idea of them becoming parents, he would do everything to protect her and the child at all costs, and would give all the love she deserved. Upon hearing this response, Rouge felt much less tense and allowed herself to be more positive about the idea of becoming a mother, feeling very happy that Knuckles was willing to take a new step in their lives.
Amy and Tails proclaimed themselves as his aunt and uncle - leading Sonic to accept the role as well.
As soon as Jasper opened his eyes for the first time, Rouge was moved with all her heart (something that, for her, was hard to do in front of so many people) and gave him the nickname "My Treasure" for the first time.
Jasper was a baby who slept a lot and had very heavy sleep.
Knuckles was always a proud father and couldn’t stop showing his son to other people. He was also a very protective father – whenever he heard a strange noise, he would rush to check on Jasper.
Rouge always talked to him, babbling and being somewhat aggressive in her affection, sometimes ignoring other people or the surroundings.
As a baby, Jasper had Sonic as his babysitter while his parents got back to their work routine.
Despite sleeping a lot, Jasper gave Sonic a hard time. He always seemed to enjoy watching his uncle struggle and run around trying to catch him while he was flying.
Over time, spending time with his Uncle Sonic taught him a few things, sparking an interest in mischief and making him more of a troublemaker.
He liked to "borrow" some of Tails' gears and tools just because they were shiny. When Tails found out, he already had a pile of Tails' things hidden on Angel Island.
Knuckles trained him while he had his time protecting the Master Emerald. He enjoyed spending time telling stories about his ancestors and recalling the inner strength he, as a future guardian, would have.
Despite this, Jasper is extremely lazy. He enjoys listening to his father, but he doesn't like the idea of becoming a guardian. For him, the less work = better.
During the World’s End Incident, Jasper and other children were cared for by Vanilla and Cream at the Resilience HQ. Even though he was scared, he was one of the children who comforted the others the most with his protective instinct.
It’s not uncommon to see Jasper sleeping lying down or upside down on a tree branch. He even prefers it, as people usually don’t bother him that way.
His ability to stretch his claws was only discovered close to his puberty, while he was on an adventure with the Team Chaotix.
He discovered a passion for fashion influenced by his mother and his Aunt Amy.
Just like his mother, he has a taste for jewelry. He followed this path by spending time analyzing, studying, and being part of T.H.A.
He loves nature for the sense of tranquility and peace it brings.
His combat techniques are a mix of his father's strength and close-range combat, combined with his mother's flexibility and cunning.
While there are moments when his parents are in heated arguments, Jasper is the only one who remains relaxed. He enjoys teasing them while watching the fight, thinking he’s the only one who truly acts like an adult sometimes.
Even after growing up, Rouge still treats him like a baby.
Jasper is very close to his honorary cousin Skyler. They have always been together, making them best friends. Many times, he is the voice of reason for her, guiding and giving advice when she needs it – whether good or bad.
Despite the working partnership between Rouge and Shadow, Jasper never really became close to Aura (Shadow's daughter), until Skyler got closer to her, making them friends and eventually a team.
Even with his relaxed and calm demeanor, he likes to make sharp and overly honest comments, which often annoys Skyler.
He calls himself "Sonic's favorite son" just to tease her.
Besides finally giving a name to the AU (TheSonicFutureAU), I finished the designs for the Main 4 during Sonic and Amy's return, and I confess that I’m happy with the result.
I tried to stay close to the original color palettes of the characters while making slight changes to convey the idea I originally wanted to express about them.
Here are some things about them in my AU:
After a great universal conflict against Dr. Eggman, Sonic and his friends joined forces with the Resistance to defeat the evil genius once and for all. With Sonic's victory, Eggman mysteriously disappeared along with his allies, leaving behind widespread destruction around the world.
The Resistance was tasked with helping the local residents and investigating Eggman's whereabouts, while Sonic committed to helping each affected city around the world. But this time, he wouldn’t go alone, finally accepting Amy's company, who, throughout the calamity, confessed her true feelings for Sonic and saved him from death.
During these events, Tails became a distinguished aerial combat pilot and proved to be capable of being a great strategist in the skies.
Knuckles was the main pillar for organizing the attacks and positioning defenses. He believed that if necessary, he would sacrifice himself for the good of everyone, which resulted in deep scars on his body but saved many lives in the process.
5 years later:
Sonic and Amy return to the city. They developed a 'situational' relationship where their friendship was stronger than ever, but there were also affections (and kisses) beyond that. They both knew each other's feelings and talked about it a lot, but Sonic didn’t feel comfortable with the idea of starting a relationship, and Amy respected his time. This made their 'something more' status a secret just between them.
Tails kept in touch with them frequently through calls, keeping them updated on the latest news and enjoying sharing every change happening in his life. Yet, when Sonic and Amy returned, they were shocked by how much Tails had changed.
Tails was starting to sell his inventions to Scientific Centers, but he aspired to go further and establish his own Technology Research Corporation.
Knuckles was now dating Rouge, being the founder of the Treasure Hunters Association (T.H.A), a group of professionals who search for treasures and artifacts for research purposes, aiming to learn more about the stories of their ancestors, and becoming an excellent historian and explorer. Of course, he also continued to protect Angel Island and the Master Emerald.
Throughout all these years, in addition to helping each city she visited, Amy wrote in a Logbook all the cultures, memories, feelings, landscapes, and photographs she encountered. The most important were the different recipes each place could offer her, which motivated her to think about opening her own restaurant, turning it into a goal.
With the return of their friends, Rouge and Knuckles decided it was the perfect time to proceed with their wedding. Unknowingly, the celebration became a torture for Sonic regarding his relationship with Amy. But during an honest conversation with Knuckles, he realized that being with someone in that position should never be a weakness, but rather the strength of the desire to be by someone's side and grow together. This reflection helped Sonic understand his true feelings about being with someone and gave him the push to propose to Amy. (With a yes!)
Amy and Sonic get married 1 year later.
With her efforts and help, Amy finally opens Dulce Amy's Restaurant.
Knuckles and Rouge have a child - Jade Jasper.
Now with someone else to protect, Tails helps Knuckles in guarding Angel Island by creating a highly precise security system around the entire Island. This same system led to Tails' recognition during a competition developed by one of his greatest inspirations in the field, securing him an opportunity to work on a major project with his idol.
When routine returned to normal, Rouge and Knuckles asked Sonic to take care of Jasper while they worked. (Since he was taking care of the house while Amy worked at the restaurant). At first, Sonic felt clearly uncomfortable, but he began to grow more and more fond of the idea of having someone to care for – and wanting to have a child.
About the Designs:
Everyone has one (or more) rings in their gear and outfits, symbolizing the idea that the four of them are a team and share a strong bond.
Foxes usually tend to orange their fur as they get older, but Tails only had some areas of his fur like that.
Both Knuckles' and Sonic's scars were caused during the Calamity against Eggman.
Sonic's red jacket was a gift from Amy.
Conclusion…
