@thesurestthing is so far out of my league. It still boggles my mind that I TURNED HER DOWN when she first expressed interest after just a few weeks talking (because I was worried that being with me would be a bad idea for her), and she had to DEBATE me into letting her fly from California to the other side of the world so we could meet in person. That was seven years ago, and obviously it worked out well, because she never left, and now we're married with a wonderful daughter.

As I've often said: That was the best argument I ever lost.

(She also just got her initial TEFL/TESOL certification and is now looking at specialization, so if your organization is looking for a native English speaker to teach English as a second language, she's got you covered.)

I'm also 19 and I have already dropped out of college. I might go back? It's up in the air. But I don't know if I want to and I don't know what I'd study. And for someone whose personality was previously based on academics, it's kind of a Thing. I'm just vibing for now

hey if they’re demanding that you pay thousands and you don’t feel like you’re getting what you want to get out of it, then you have every right to drop out and rethink what it is that you’re looking for !! seriously, congrats on making that step and for putting your own well being first. what a power move dude. proud of you. honestly whether you go back or you don’t, in two months or twenty years from now - as long as you have the passion and the stability to study what you really want to study, or to seek out what makes you really happy, then that’s all that matters. i totally get why you’re having a bit of a crisis if your identity was built on academics and schooling, but there is truly so much more to the world and to you than that. nows the time to explore it all 🤩 your future happiness REALLY doesn’t depend on deciding what you want to do for the rest of your life at 19. change is constant and you don’t have to be sure of anything at this point. just remember that you have worth that is independent of the educative system, you know? honestly just vibing is the way forward. “vibe and vibe until your life vibes back” - shakespeare
