Sorry for not updating in a while! I was at camp for two weeks. Almost done with Uranus, but I ran out of a couple colors.

What are you up to this fine Saturday night?
Hera’s outline is mostly done! It took about 5 hours, yikes.

It's band camp time at Furman University and that means our band sisters are finishing up the summer strong while hard at work learning drill and getting better (me included help my soul) on this years program: Turn the Beat Around. Today was section day and pictures here are sisters and drum majors Hannah Carlson and Emily Salgado and Clarinet Section Leader Savannah Hinson! Come out this fall for a home game, it's going to be a great program!
Our chapter representative at National Convention this year was Alicia Russell. Alicia spent the weekend learning so much about the sisterhood and talking with National officers while being able to show off her SAI pride in St. Louis.
Congratulations to Hannah Carlson, who was able to return to Washington DC and participate in a conducting workshop with Pershing's Own, Dr. Jack Stamp, and Colonel Haltan. It's Hannah's dream to work with the President's Own one day and we are so happy that she was able to explore and learn more about what it means to be a part of a military band!
Current chapter president Sarah Eikenbusch is finishing up her internship at St. Jude’s this month, and has loved being a part of the research process there. We enjoyed this picture of skylights and the process of mitosis. Who says music nerds can't be science nerds too? ;)
