7: How does your character perceive themselves? Positive? Negative? Neutral?

//This is a bit of a complicated question when it comes to Valerie. Prior to her change into a halfa, she actually had a pretty positive outlook on herself. She liked the way she looked, she knew she was strong, that she could survive things that people twice her age would balk at. In general, she was content, if nothing else.

However, with her having become a half-ghost, a lot of self-hatred and insecurities came with it. Because of her prior hatred of ghosts, it's hard for her to view herself in a positive light at times. In addition, with the nightmares she frequently has, part of her is absolutely convinced that she is a dangerous monster, just waiting for the right... or wrong... moment to snap.

Her view on herself regarding her looks (at least in human form) and things haven't changed, but she often feels as if she's harboring a deadly parasite. She hates looking at herself in the mirror when she's in ghost form, hating how inhuman she appears to be. She will avoid doing so at all costs.

In the verses where she's learned Danny's secret, most of the time she's been able to forgive and accept him for who and what he is... but is unwilling to extend that same forgiveness and acceptance towards herself. Hence the nightmares and various other things that bring her opinion of herself down.
