june is here

marking 

another year spent in the closet 

another year worrying about the future 

another year in this godforsaken country  

one day, 

one day i’ll love without fear 

one day i’ll march the streets with my flag 

one day i won’t live in the shadow of the person i want to be 

i hope 

i won’t cry on the first of july 

and i promise 

that i will be proud.
