Group chat?

Starting off on Tumblr, I was seeking a community of people similar to me. 

It’s clear I am into The Strokes and I was wondering if anybody wanted to join me in creating a chat where we can share our favorite music, interests, hobbies, etc... I’d love to be apart of a community since I just recently got Tumblr for the first time!

Things that I want to remember in the future: I went without ilusion to see Jules, I just knew the place and the hour in he could be out. I traveled in subway 40 minutes just to see him. When I finally arrive to the radio station I met with other guys that was waiting for him too and they said to me that Jules wasn't there yet so we just wait. The radio station had three exits and nobody knew in which one he could leave the place so we divide in groups to be alert when the interview ended. Me and the other guys never knew when he arrive but when the interview endes Jules came out and it was fantastic, all the boys was very excited. Just some of the guys take pictures with him, I was very close to Julian but I was shaking (I dreamed with that moment since I have 12, i'm 19 now) and I just said to him "Can you sign this, please? " Probably he listened me then smile me and say "Yes of course". I don't have a Picture with Jules but I met him, he smiled to me and signed my Virtue's Photo book. I'm so happy, I admire Jules a lot and hope he and the guys (Strokes and Voidz) had a great time in my country.

THE VOIDZ FALL DEEP INTO THE VOID….

Ok, so I recently posted about the drama surrounding the band, The Voidz. Well after some digging, I found an alleged screenshot of their first official statement on the Beardo accusations involving underaged fans before it was deleted. First, let me say that through observation on Instagram, the fans seem to fall into three categories: those who just want an official statement, those who already saw the official statement and are even more upset and want an apology for how it was handled, and those who don’t care and still love the band no matter what.

I fell into the first category I didn’t even know a statement had been made because it had already been deleted when I came along. So there are many who missed out on that statement. Well, here it is and it’s a lot to unpack and very problematic and contradictory in its nature, but for now I will just make these brief points.

1. The official statement should have been something objective that they could stand by and leave posted instead of just rant-posting and deleting it leaving many fans still in the dark.

2. Why is the post so defensive? The band isn’t big enough to have that many trolls and they can’t seem to realize there is real concern from real fans, not trolls.

3. I understand they don’t want to throw their own bandmate under the bus without proof, but they didn’t have to word it as if there’s absolutely no possible way it could be true. They have no way of knowing that for sure unless they follow Jeramy 24/7.

4. All they had to say was something to the effect of …

“We as a band stand against sexual harassment of any kind and are aware of the allegations out there, but all such claims are unsubstantiated and we would like to speak no further on the matter.” or something like that! So easy, and that’s just from the top of my head! That’s all they had to say. They didn’t have to attack, block and delete their own supporters! Yeesh! 😬

They need serious damage control, or a PR person because their emotions fueled the statement and that’s why it was poorly made. A true “lawyer” wouldn’t have worded things like that, lol, but nice try.

But really all they need to do is a video apology and a denial of any accusations and a stance against sexual harassment and all will be good! Now some may still side-eye Beardo, including me, but at least Julian could redeem himself, after all he is the band’s leader and so many follow his every word. Now they just want him to be a man of his word and beliefs.

I tell you what, fame is fickle and hard to navigate, but consumers like to know exactly what they are consuming before they choose to spend money to consume again.
