I think it’s time...
...you guys finally deserved the truth.
*sighs*
My name is no longer what is has been, and no longer will be ever again. For those of you who don’t know my old name, all I can tell you is that it was something I cherished. For those of you that do, please don’t disclose that information to anyone if they ask. I will tell you why in a second.
It’s been a long time since everything happened and I was still trying to process the information. But the truth is, the reason I lost Vale? Was to a house fire, that was ruled an accident, but I know it wasn’t. Bad people were out to get me and Vale was caught in the middle of the crossfire, one night, at home, where I was supposed to be, but I had been at work.
A few months later, the men who killed him, found me again, and I was just lucky to be awake at the time, otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to get out alive.
Now, I’ve been forced out of my job, somewhere safe, where those men can’t find me. And I hate it. But more than that... no one can know who I used to be. But... I think it’s safe for you guys to know. Because I trust you and you guys support me through all of this, I know. So, yeah, everything has gone to hell and that’s only half of it.
I’m no longer a detective, and I was forced to move from where I lived. From my home, my friends, and the people I was sworn to protect.
I was also given a new identity. And I’ll tell you guys this: it’s not so bad, who I am now. I don’t have a new job yet, but I was thinking about being a teacher. Mr. Chase to either highschoolers or Danny to elementary schoolers. *shrugs* Not sure yet if I’ll stick with that plan. But, if you haven’t figured it out yet, my new identity is Daniel N. Chase. D.C. for those that know me now on Ao3 or Wolf on Fanfiction or FictionPress. *smiles*
I’m learning to get through it all, still, though, but with your help... I know I can learn to accept my new life and maybe even let the past be... just that. The past.
Thank you guys so much for everything you’ve done to support me... and I can only hope for the continued support through these hard times and even beyond.
~ D.C. (The White Wolf)
